The problem will be solved soon. I talked to Vorteck and they got the connectors that I need. Cost 70$ but thats a small price to pay to actually get to run this thing at the track. They reffered to our charger as a mutt. Cuz its a powerdyne head unit and a Vortech FMU with piping from who knows were. Kind of pi$$ed me off but oh well they got what I need. By the way for any one else who has this problem in the future you can order the male and female FMU lines from vortech. Order the ones for the z28 and you will be fine. Thanks for the help and I will let you know when I got everything hooked up.

I got the call saying it was done and my echanic said iy was running anywhere from 7-9 psi and was faster than his slightly modded 97 Trans am. I was like hell yea. So I go pick it up and he explains all the guages to me. Anticipation is killing me and I cant wait to give her a spin. So I pull out of the drive way and get up to about 20 mph and slam it. Instantly my no posi tire breaks and Im propelled faster than Ive ever thought possible in my car. Blower or not. So I tried to do it again and I kept getting anywere from 1-3 psi. Still noticable power but not 2 grand worth. My pyrometer was reading 1200 so I new what had happened. BELT SLIPPING!!!!!! ALREADY????? It looked like it would be simple to tighten but my mechanic said he'll do it for me tomorrow. Well this sucks.... Should I still go run at the track tonight or is my car in danger?

Well went to the track tonight and realized that the boost wont last even a second before slipping. So my times are as follows best 16.4. Worst 17.1. This really was depressing.....I had been running anywere from 15.7-16.1. I didnt bother to change my sig cus I figuered Id wait till the powerdyne times. Why is my car running slower when I have no boost? I guess the ram air and whisper lid really made a differance. Im really dissapointed. I new that I was getting hardly any boost, but I figuered Id pull a 15.5 or so. Well my mechanic says hes gonna tighten it at the track for me tomorrow and hopefully Ill be posting some real times tomorrow. Oh buy the way my first race was against a 350Z and he ran a 14.8. I keep wondering... What if I had my boost? Would I have one? That would be the shisnic.

You should be able to tighten it yourself. Just watch him do it next time. It isn't that hard. I was only getting 1-2 psi when I first installed mine as well because the belt was slipping. Mine has to be VERY tight in order to get boost. Pick up some napa belt dressing before you go to the track next time and squirt a little on the belt. It will get sticky and help you maintain boost during track runs.

How often do you have to tighten yours?

wondering but do you have limited slip? if not get one ASAP

also are you spinning the tires even a little? if so get more tire and get them on no larger then 16" wheels cause other wise its just more weight also try to get some skinnes

I tighten mine every time i go to the track. Maybe once a month if I feel like it. Keep an eye on your boost gauge. If it looks like you dont have 5-9psi, tighten it. Also if boost drops off in high rpms it needs tightened.

Close to the alternator there is a pulley, its called a tensioner for your SC. Untighten the nut on the back of that. Then do what I do and use a wood with a 1/2-3/4" thickness and place it in between the pulley and the bracket of that tensioner. Place the other end of that wood on your left shoulder and then lean on it with your weight while pulling the belt with your hand towards you. When it is as tight as possible then tighten up the bolt. You should give belt only an inch play. Remember the belt contract as it gets hotter so having an inch play is crucial and less stressful to the other acessories.

Before you race, I highly recommend Preston belt dressing. That is the most stickies thing I have ever used and yeah you can elimate slippage with it.

                                Good luck.
