can u explain what u are actually getting done...is it going to be a double sided belt? kinda curious to see how u are going to solve the problem....and if u do solve it, will the rest of us be able to get in on it?
we really need to find an answer to this slippage issue.
keep us posted.... thanksPerry V.
\'97 Chameleon Bird w/ too many toys to list.
http://www.goecities.com/umvagia0

Thanks for the quick help everyone. Shirl your solution seems to be the simplest... What is it about the ac delco that will make this problem go away? Is it skinnier or just has a tougher shell? Also the dremel tool idea sounds pretty good too. Well Ill let you guys/girls no the second I have another problem. BTW, walbro goes in Thursday and track is this Friday. I know you've heard it before but I think this will be " the one" That 15.4 I ran was at 87 mph. My best before the blower was 16.1 at 86 mph. The 60 ft's were the same. Only 1 mph differance? So if the walbro serves its purpose and I hook with 5 psi OR MORE then my dream should become a reality....Ill post again on Thursday and let you know about the walbro 255 lph.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

Oh to awnswer your question Shirl this track is slow. Why? I dont know. The Ls1's here are running 14's. My friend has a modded one that has pretty much SLP everything. He even made the engine look exactly like a vette. His best time out of over 100 time slips is a 13.5. The LS1 group at the track called BSM has over ten members. They all have heavely modded LS1's. One even has a charger. Ive never seen any of them do better then 13.1. But Im not using that as an excuse. I think it's actualy just not getting enough fuel up top. Thats why my time improved by 7 tenths but only 1 mph. I think if she had enough fuel to match the air on the last half of the track that my mph would be in the 90's instead of 87 and that would greatly improve my times. Well guess Ill know if Im right or not Friday.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

Good luck Green. Remember don't over tighten the belt. Give it about an inch play for safety of your accessories. Then 30 hours before the race, stray some belt dressing on it.
When you are at the track. Let the engine cool down and then tighten the belt down. Since your automatic, powerbrake to 1800-2000 rmp and launch. I swear your time will be alot better this time. Fuel might be an issue but I don't know by how much.
Put some high octane additives to your fuel and set the boost retardant to 0 deg. Good luck.
If something breaks, please don't blame me. :D

Thanks Thor, you've been here since the beginning. I really do feel like it's a fuel proglem. Thats the only reason I can Imagine doing 7 tenths better but only gaining 1 mph. I also raced a 97 v8 bird today and hung with him till 60 mph. Side by side neighter giving or pulling. Then he took off after that. My car was running strong with 7 psi. This was a good example of how my car is pulling real good down low but ( I beleave) running out of fuel up top. Also after looking through my time slips Ive pulled 87 mph before I ever installed the blower. Well Ill know this Friday and thanks for the tips.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

Just some f.y.i. to any Powerdyne owners who would like to save a few hundred dollars when it comes time to change the internal belt or bearings. I just replaced the internal belt and two bearings on a used Powerdyne I bought off this board. Not really a difficult d.i.y. project. Here is a link I found with excellent directions.

I want everyone to know that Hank Hill is the man!!!!! Between the drawing ot the belt set up and the bearings imfo you just posted you have officially made this topic the official powerdyne problem solver. Well I went and picked up my car from the 255lph fuel pump install. First thing I noticed was that the car was idling at 46 psi instead of the normal 42. Very good sighn. So I take her for a spin... I punch it still looking at my fuel psi and it read like this 50 60 70 80 and then BOOOOOOOM!!!!!! WTF? IT was like a gunshot went off inside my car. The car then sounded really deep as in bass. I drove slowly home and jacked her up. Just like I guessed they didnt put my axhaust on tight enough and the pipes in the middle of the car disconnected. With a flashlight and determination to test run my car tonight I went under and put her back together. Yep she sounded normal again. I got to admit though that sound was awesome!!!! It sounded like a pure bada** dragster v8. Way better then I ever imagined she could sound. Well I decided to do some test runs with the new fuel pump with 6 psi. I immediatly noticed that the power of the car was now coming much much more smoothly. Back when I was getting only 60 fuel psi it felt like the engine really had to work for the power. Now with 80 fuel psi it feels like the car dosent have a power adder. It feels like it's just a fast car that was made to be fast. Not a struggling v6 trying to handle the power. I timed my self on 0-60 mph before I added the blower and it was always 7 and a half to just under 8 seconds. With the 60 fuel psi I was getting 60 mph right at 7 seconds, maybe like 6.8 or so. and hitting 60-100 mph right around 10 seconds. Tonight while trying these same acceleration runs with the 80 psi fuel pressure I had consistent 6.0 to slight sub 6 second 0- 60 mph runs. I did this to confirm my 0-60 times 7-10 times to try and make myself beleave what I was seeing. And each time It came out to 6 seconds flat or better! Maybe there was a strong gust of wind behind me or somthing. Either that or my stop watch is screwed up. My 60-100 mph times were now 8 seconds flat or better. I only did this run twice and there was a downhill portion. So Im sure she cant be that quick. My times would suggest that my car is now a high 13 low 14 second car. I find my times very hard to beleave and am sure I HAD to make some errors. You dont go from 16.1 to 14 flat off just 6 psi and a straight pipe when your car is as heavy as mine. But I defiently do feel that 14's are on the way tomorrow night. Probal high 14's but that will work for me . Well wish me luck (again)Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)

Lifes just not fare man. The car is now idleing at 40 fuel psi and under boost it actualy goes down. Im talking low 30's under boost. WTF? This is the new pump I just installed yesterday. The walbro 255 lph. Like I posted earlier I was getting 80 pounds of fuel pressure yesterday and the car was pulling 6 second 0-60 mph and 14 second 0-100 mph. It was finaly right. Now the fuel pressure goes all the way to zero when I turn it off instead of staying at 40 psi like it used too. The car will barely start and the fuel pressure guage is not broke cause you can feel the car struggling to start and actually drive down the road. What is causing this? Have you ever experienced somthing similar. Could it be the FMU? Man I dont know what to do. All I know is that I paid 120$ for somthing that dosent work and even paid someone 150$ to install it just to get performance that was worst then when I even had the FMU hooked up incorrectly. It was working beautifully yesterday and nonthing was changed since then so somthing had to get fried. Eighter it was the fuel pump, FMU or the fuel pressure regulator and they said that they tested the fuel pressure regulator and FMU and they were both fine. Can someone please tell me somthing to try.... Ill try it. I just cant beleave Im gonna have to shell out another 120$ for a fuel pump and another 150$ for the install. PLEASE help me out I really need some support right now.Powerdyne 98 a4 convert

stock 16.6 @ 86

6 lbs boost 15.1 @ 90

04 A4 2.73 geared white Corvette Coupe

stock- 13.5 @ 103

LS6 conversion-13.1 @ 107
http://members.cardomain.com/greenglow98 ( pics of intercooled powerdyne)
