  • Hmmm, you have had your share of challenges and gremlins with your project for sure! I found some basic fuel system troubleshooting info at this link:
    http://www.mityvac.com/fuelpressure.html
It might give you a little more insight. If you don't have a clogged fuel filter, kinked fuel line, bad fuel regulator or insufficent voltage to the pump (high resistance relay contact). I suspect 'infant mortality' on the new pump. If that's the case and the pump is brand new, complain loud and long to the manufacturer, they done u wrong.

    Good Luck,

    • Well she's only getting 20-25 fuel psi now. I dont know if Ill even be able to drive it the 4 miles to my mechanic... It was defiently my fuel pump as evident by the way its dying day by day just like the window motors do. This is just my luck as we all know by now. Man I really like visual mods better now, he he. The pump is a grantelli 255 lph ( made by Walbro) and was sold to me by Summit. I want to know if anyone has ever returned anything to Summit and how hard it was. Are they beyotches about it?

      • I never had a problem. I returned a catalytic converter that I used and broke withing a month. They sent me a new one and I shipped the old one back.

          • I wish you well Green. I have had my share of bugs, but I think you took on more than I ever did. Oh well, experience is a great teacher. I hope this new one works out for you.

Have you thought about getting an Air/Fuel ratio gauge? I've been thinking about that lately.

            • That would defiently be a good investment. That will probaly be my next step when I complete this fuel problem. Im just happy I did some acceration runs before it died and no the potential of the car now. That makes it pretty easy for me to spend the money and have another pump installed again. If I hadnt done those runs it would be very hard for me to spend the money again.

              • 98GREENGLOW, what times have you run with the powerdyne SC?

                Comment

                • Swift body, I go by what the time slip says. The best time slip I have is a 15.4 at 87 mph. HOWEVER that time was run before I changed my fuel pump. When I changed my fuel pump I PERSONALY recorded 0-60 mph in 6 seconds flat and 0-100 mph in 14-14.5 seconds. That fuel pump unfortunetly only lasted a few hours and then stopped working for unknown reasons. Since I did noy have time to actualy confirm those times on a time slip I will not say I have a 14 second car. If you want to know how effective the powerdyne is I have come to this conclusion. If you have a 16 second car, you can probaly see 14.5 with this charger. If you have a mid 15 second car then you may see 14 flat with it. If you look on the timeslips page you will see that 14-14.2 is the average with this blower. Keep in mind that the people that are running those times also have other mods to support the charger. Time improvement on a stock v6. I dont know?

                    • Actualy I didnt want to spoil it cas it seems like everytime I post somthing bad happens. My mechanic feels sorry for me and told me that since Ive been such a good customer hes gonna put a new fuel pump in for me for free. He's also gonna put the diamond finish on my powerdyne pully for free. He's also gonna slightly grind down my bracket so I stop destroying my oil filters. I think that another reason he,s doing this all for free is cas I gotta wait for his new shop to open in two weeks and he feels bad about me having to wait. So this post will probaly be quiet for a while and Ill post when I get it towed to his shop. Yea I said towed.

                          • My mechanic got me a new fuel pump but his car lift has not been installed on time to do the installation. He says if it's not installed soon then we'll just use jacks to do it. I could have just got another pump and paid some one else to do it a month ago. But he's doing it all for free, including the price of the pump so Im just waiting for him. I hope he dose it soon cas I want to get the powerdyne dynoed and compare it to the new systems out there to see were I stand.

                              • Alright for anyone who still cares after all this time , my car is currently in the shop being worked on. The work includes the installation of a new fuel pump......The machining of a new supercharger bracket screw......a diamond or knurl finish on the powerdyne pully.....best part is that all this is being done free of charge, including the price of the high power fuel pump. The FREE part is why I waited so long for this to happen and didnt just go to someone else. I should have the car tomorrow or by friday so Ill post up then.
