  • Powerdyne gains?

Sometime in the near future I was thinking about putting a Powerdyne on my 99 3.8L. What gain in hp and tq would I see, and what if any, problems should I worry about with the kit?

no problem, just remember that is without the JohnD wrap, 9 lb pulley and stuff. Also people have added intercoolers too. So there is definetely more power out there in the kit. That article is just the #'s of the kit as you would get it new without changing some of the stuff to make it put out more

I personally saw this car 6 years ago before he had it shipped to Florida. It is basically stock, with stock exhaust and only the SC on it as a mod. The gain is very good.

RKSports did gave him the body kit to dress up his 95 Camaro so they could advertise it in the magazine and in their site.

I really really really want to buy this kit but the price is about 1,000-1,500 too much in my opinion. Does ANYONE sell this kit for a more reasonable price?

its expensive new.. but used ones come around on occasion.. they are good deals IMHO..

if anything goes bad with the blower you can have it fixed for like $350 or something at powerdyne..

or you can get kits on ebay for around $100 and try to do the repairs yourself..

yea I'll keep looking for a used kit I guess. But I haven't seen anything on Ebay in the last few months. I'm ready to buy right now.

Yea it's pretty easy to find them used if you look hard.... The normal power increase at the wheels with 5-7 pounds of boost is roughly 50 - 60 rwhp.

i personaly dynoed around 220 at the wheels with it. Inever dynoed before it but Id assume maybe 165 at the wheels or so before hand.

But the real trith is in the rack times.

Most people will dropp from a scond to a second and a half off there times in a stock to supercharged maro.

I sold mine roughly four months ago to dreaded Hope and he already dropped a full second off of just 5 pounds of boost. My set up was good for 8-10 pounds so Im sure he can dropp atleaste another second wih it.

Too drop a full second in the 1/4 like that im sure he's already gained 45-60 rwhp from only 5 pounds of boost.

The system has a lot of potential when done right.

I am thinking about selling my kit with bov, 6 and 9 pound pulleys, fuel pump, and a vortech super fmu. Reason for selling is I am having another kid. Can't fit 2 carseats in a camaro. You can email me at jerfitz79@cswebmail.com and I will reply as soon as I can.
