  • pressurized crank case-oil pressure??

will the oil pressure gauge read normally when the crank case has excess pressure?

I'm wondering because I just fired up my bird w/powerdyne for the first time and noticed no oil pressure on the gauge. . I immediatly shut down. . but now I'm wondering what's going on.

could it just be I messed up the oil pressure sending unit? if so then damn. .

and yes before a captain obvious strikes. . there is oil in the pan and yes the sensor is plugged in.

    the stock oil pressure guage??

mine looked pretty much normal before and after the install and with or without the pcv block off..

dunno.. get any error codes? that would tell you if its not hooked up right..

no codes, just no pressure (according to the stock gauge). If the sender went out wouldn't I get a ses light??

I would imagine that you would get an ses light if it was not plugged in.. or it was getting bad voltage.. but.. you never know..

I dunno what to tell yah.. start taking crap apart and praying you can figure it out..

          ....
did you do the modification correctly? to the sending unit.. that thing you attach the 45 degree elbow to thats near the oil filter?? is the elbow blocked somehow?? is it even hooked up??

it's all hooked up. . I got a 90 degree elbow, but doubt that would have anything to do with it. . The only thing I can think of is I messed up the sending unit. I'll be ripping it all back apart tomorrow and making a trip to autozone. Hopefully they have one in stock.

crowds gather quick at an army barracks parking lot when they see a supercharger under the hood lol. Hated to disappoint them by shutting down.

Yeah I dont know what else to tell you beyond pulling off the blower and testing it with another sending unit.. if you felt motovated you could get out a multi-meter and a wire diagram and ultamatly drive your self to comminting suicide..

errr... forget that last idea.. jsut try getting a new sending unit and seeing what happens.. its posible that it got dammaged during the install.. i have never heard of somone breaking one.. but.. you never know..

If it's not plugged in (I don't run th stock one on my car) the gauge will read waaay past 120 +!

hrmm.. i guess i could jsut cap up the stocker hole and get an aftermarket guage.. i am assuming thats what do did rob.. now that i think about how many f-ing guages you have in your car.

Unhook the inlet intake pipe from the tb and try running it again. When I first got mine 6yrs ago, I notice that the pressure is somewhat low. After running it several times it was fine. I even put a breather on it.

                        Good luck.

A little crankcase pressure will slightly affect the oil pressure but not enough to make it read zero.

Also the blower shouldn't be turning fast enough at idle to pressurize the crankcase anyway.

Possibly cracked (overtorqued) the sensor, or possibly got some teflon tape/paste in the opening. I'd focus there. It's quicker and easier than rigging an aftermarket gauge up. You can probably do it with the blower in place, just go in from underneath.
