  • Over oiling the turbo

For my turbo setup, i was planning on using size -6AN lines and fittings to the turbo. After talking w/ my roomate about it, he said that i could damage the seals on the turbo. He suggested a smaller line like -3 or -4 AN. The only reason i chose the 6 was for convenience...swivel fittings were very hard to find in the 3 and 4 size. all i found in those sizes were the 90* square bent brass brake line fittings, where i wanted a more aesthetically pleasing red and blue annodized swivel fitting.

will the larger size damage the turbo?
if so, could i just install a size -3AN oil inlet on the turbo and adapt down to it, using it as a restrictor?

will the oil pump be able to handle approx. 7 total feet of size -6AN oil line?
~3 ft. to & from remote filter
    ~1.5 ft. to turbo
~2.5 ft. to & from oil cooler...coming off the remote filter.

thanks for any help offered, but please don't post unless you know what you're talking about.

      thanks...but...

the smallest size of earls swivel, aluminum red/blue hose end is -6.

i already have the hoses in -6, i need to know if it will damage the turbo.

        it wont damage the turbo....

you could run a restrictive orifice inline if you wish to reduce the pressure to the turbo.

I think you will be fine though.
