ok, we all know about tiagos turbo dam* near being done right. ok, well, i was thinkin about gettin the kit later but thats not what this is about. on tiagos kit the intercooler is mounted in the nose (if i remember correctly), but lookin at other pics of the kit the intercooler is under the nose. i think i would rather put the intercooler in the nose of my camaro as well, but dont know if it would fit. i was thinkin about takin out the black plastic POS and replacin it with the billet one, then taking the dremel kit to it and cutting out the backing right after the mounting holes. but i know theres a lot of styrofoam and im not even sure if the intercooler would fit. so that seemed like a good idea to me... except also id like the intercooler, if its even possible, to be black so you woulndnt even see it unless you were looking for it. is there a way to paint intercoolers without affecting the performance or operation?

we have two intercooler designs, one is a FMIC like mine, and the other is underneath the car, hidden.
You can paint it but I think that might affect the heat exchanging properties of the IC.

if the IC is silver/metal and you get a billet grill then it should blend together. The bars on the grill are pretty tight, so you cant really see through them that well, unless you're right up on it. I think leaving the IC silver would look better

ill probably wont paint it then. ya, i just wanted to position it so that the CO2 gets forced into the intercooler rather than pushed underneath it from the kit(as i thought might occur if positioned underneath and flat like in the pics). with the CO2 kit, which position would be best?2001 camaro v6 red convertable
ggotta go fast... ok now to the question on heat of the turbo and everytrhing like that. well everyone one knows that heat is bad. the cooler that you keep the better the performance and the better the life. this is especially true with any kind of forced induction. with forced induction you want to keep everything as cool as possible. thats why you always see people with forced induction with some type of intercooler. with hotter air you have a better chance of having detonation. if you dont knwo what detonation is, here's the story. well with detonation the air and the cylinders get so hot that the fuel will ignite before ignition, causing a knock.

hey tiago... just a quick question... are you runnin stock internals? if i were to get your turbo kit, would you rather people get, like, GTP pistons or would it be cool to run it stock? i wouldnt mind GTP pistons, but all together it would cost around over $2000 ! what you think???2001 camaro v6 red convertable
ggotta go fast... yes...you can use radiator paint, and it will not affect anything...my friend did this on his 240sx "silvia"1998 Chevrolet Camaro L36 M5
1982 Toyota Celica Supra 7MGTE project car - FOR SALE

\"I find the most sensual part of the woman is the boobies.\" - Zap Brannigan

Or if its aluminum you can anodize it
Which I'm sure 99.9% of intercoolers are.
I wouldn't do either that or radiator paint myself though. They WILL affect the heat exchange negatively (perhaps not by much, maybe even so finite it doesn't matter, but a polished up intercooler looks pretty anyway, and every little bit helps)2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'
