The superchared 3.8 wont fit under the hood, from what I have heard, there are clearance problems between the firebird hood and the top of the engine. However, maybe if they had modified the hood, say a cowl-induction type of bulge, it may have been workable. But I think there may still have been clearance problemswith the windshield and dashstuff too.
However, the superchared 3.8 uses a roots type blower, which arent quite as efficient as centrifugal types. I personally think that GM would have done better putting a V6 in the fcar that had a powerdyne-type blower in it, mounted in front of the airbox.

Camarorulz: but why do that when I can just swap in an LS1?
Because then you can say you have a really fast V6!
Neways are yall talkin about taking a blower from like a gtp and putting it on a camaro or firebird???is that what yall are saying. I dont see why it should be that hard, they are the same engines, right?
Sorry folks, biggest misconception here in the FI forums. Just won't fit, you'll have to leave it at that. If you want to do some clearence mods for the cowl / windshield, have a blast -- b/c you'll need them. Also outlet issues. Now, search for the guy who put a lightning blower on his z28 -- and be amazed at how the 8 man found clearence, much less us 6 folk.
where in the hell are you gonna run in the intake ducts?
it just isn't practicle.

I can turbocharge the V6 I have with less work, then I will have a faster V6. So I will say it again, it's an interesting concept, but there's no point in swapping an L67 into an f-body.
