  • This is what you guys need: RWD L67

See GM did it for the Holden CV6 Monaro's:

There's gotta be a way to squeeze em in a v6 fody.

Yeah I saw that awhile ago and posted it and always wondered why no one tried it. Looks like it might fit with the stock firewall..

I've done it a couple of times, dig up my posts and you'll find the info. Not a cost effective job by any means.

No its not lol, you show me a place where you can buy holden M90's here in the states. It costed us $1900 to import them from Oz and that was cost to us at GM specialty vehicles!TTA is great boost rocks!

The superchared 3.8 wont fit under the hood, from what I have heard, there are clearance problems between the firebird hood and the top of the engine. However, maybe if they had modified the hood, say a cowl-induction type of bulge, it may have been workable. But I think there may still have been clearance problemswith the windshield and dashstuff too.

However, the superchared 3.8 uses a roots type blower, which arent quite as efficient as centrifugal types. I personally think that GM would have done better putting a V6 in the fcar that had a powerdyne-type blower in it, mounted in front of the airbox.

Because then you can say you have a really fast V6!

Neways are yall talkin about taking a blower from like a gtp and putting it on a camaro or firebird???is that what yall are saying. I dont see why it should be that hard, they are the same engines, right?

Sorry folks, biggest misconception here in the FI forums. Just won't fit, you'll have to leave it at that. If you want to do some clearence mods for the cowl / windshield, have a blast -- b/c you'll need them. Also outlet issues. Now, search for the guy who put a lightning blower on his z28 -- and be amazed at how the 8 man found clearence, much less us 6 folk.

The L67 "Short Block" will fit perfect.

Drilling a tap for the starter + L36 heads/intake + L67 Short Block = An Engine that will fit into our car.

                      And you ask why?

Well since your engine is out,

1.) you can get those new L32 hot forged powder metal connecting rods machined and fitted

2.) buying a very good set new pistons cost almost as much as a L67 short block will cost, so building up a L36 is wasteful

3.) you can buy nice beefy push rods

4.) since your engine is out you can buy new gaskets, bearings, and bolt kits

We all here have to face the fact that our cars will never be as fast as the LS1 cars modded.

Because even without a tire burning launch with LS1 cars, you can still run 13's

I doubt that any v6 could do that without good boost

where in the hell are you gonna run in the intake ducts?

                        it just isn't practicle.

I can turbocharge the V6 I have with less work, then I will have a faster V6. So I will say it again, it's an interesting concept, but there's no point in swapping an L67 into an f-body.

it's been awhile since i've been on this web page, i actually bought prototype supercharger from chris white and i was planning on installing it this summer, but since i am in the marines, i've been in iraq and kuwait for the last 7 months of my life...

you miht have to cut and past the address.
if you have any questions on it you'll have to email me at cappell2@msu.edu becuase i can't check any of my other mail on the computers that i have access too.
