beated me..in quater mile..

    ^^; hehet~ i expected allready..

    wooper and emp...capecitter.. atc in my trunk..

    its pritty big weight..

    although my car is 3800CC i cantbeat my friend..

    at finish line.. between my car with my friend car

    distance.. was like 3cars...14Miter over..^^;

    but i thought again...

    if i dont open my car and drive alone...and..

    use 0.9-1.0psi boost and get rid of trunk's sound

    system.. i might can beat my friend...^^;

    how do you think about that?

    so today i got rid of trunk's sound system..

    it's weight was 60KG ^^

    after got rid of trunk's system... i felt my car

    can be moved sharplly..^^;

    anyway.. tomorrow.. i will make supercharger

    more smaller fully than stock fully..^^;

    i will make 0.9-1.0psi boost...

    how do you think about that? you guys...

    i need really somebodys help...

    in korea its just second time... having powedyne

    supercharger on firebird so...almost...

    nobody.. know.. about setup P/D on firebird

    hmm.. and i also.. having problem.. with P/D

    i grooved fully..so.. slip is noproblem..

    but when i start engine my rpm was goes up and..

    down... so just stop

    so i start again and then accelling....

    hmm...sometimes if i full accelling and then...

    if i dont touch accell my engine stop...

    why it happend... i cant understand..

    hmm..also i dont know. how TRC-1 works..

    i cant setting it...

    TRC-1 allways led right was showed..

    how i can use it...

    sorry..^^;

    and.. when i full acceling after 5000rpm

    the engine sound.. was very strange... i felt

    it might be detonated..^^;

    to explain..is not.. easy...with my english..

    sorry..

    to long ugly english... sorry..^^;

    0.9-1.0psi is ok? ^^;

    i need advice...

    I will try my best here :D First off, your motor is stalling when you let off of the gas (probably) because you have no or very little air coming into the motor. Is the blower tube that goes into the intake manifold TIGHT? Make sure the BELT is tight also, so that you can make 6-7psi of boost. I think the Tiburon is a mid-high 14 second car You should have been able to beat him. Also, do you have the stock exhaust still on the car??? If so, get rid of it (because it is restrictive) and upgrade the entire exhaust system so that there is no backpressure

      How hot was it out??? Blown 3.8's do not like heat... as most other motors. You may have been experiencing detonation. The TRC lights up red when you are in boost. If it is a Crane module (like I have) you should set it on 2 and see if you get that "noise" you heard at 5000 rpm.

        are you talking about boost or bar? b/c 1 bar is ~ 14 psi, and the P/D can't put that out. if you only use .9 psi, then what's the point of the S/C...i may not be understanding you, or may just not know anything about forced induction.

        stock engine will only handle 7 psi reliably...but can be pushed to 9-10 occationally

            I'm not totally following you here, but if you are asking about running 9-10 lbs of boost, it can be done. You will experience blow-by where oil will come out either your oil dipstick tube or somewhere else on the motor... therefore, you will need a crankcase breather system to run higher boost. You'd experience blowby at around 7psi and more.

              shirl ^^; thanks..

              hmm.. mine is crane as yours..

              over 5000rpm the sounds like.. ddaddaddaddadda...

              ^^; can you understand?

              you said.. i should put dial 2 on TRC-1

              i think.. i havent put dial 2 on TRC-1

              do you meant if i put dial 2 on TRC-1

              over 5000rpm i can hear nois?

              at that time..if i hear nois...

              is it normal?

              can you explain again? ^^;

              intake pipe line is ok~

              i did everything tight...

              i can see 6psi....

              thanks...

              p.s) when i put 20 on TRC-1 and at that time..

              if i full accell my car... first gear is speed

              up...and..then when rpm is 6000rpm....

              it doesnt go secondgear quickly...^^;

              goes secondgear too lately....

              is it normal?

              i dont..know...^^;;;;;;

              thanks shirl

                If you set the Crane module on 2. This will retard the timing and therefore you should NOT hear that noise at/above 5000 rpm. If you still hear it, then there is definately something wrong. Ignition timing should be set at about 2 degrees of retard per 50hp. Each of those #'s on the Crane box retard timing by 2 degrees. For example: #1 means you are retarding 2 degrees of timing, #2 means you are retarding 4 degrees of timing and so forth. I have mine set at 1 1/3. Experiment and like I said, if you still hear that noise you were talking about, then it probably ISN'T detonation.

                        To my knowledge, the most our engine can take safely is 9psi, without an intercooler. You can go as high as 12 with an intercooler. This is according to James.

                        As far as you fluctuating rpm, you might have a vacuum leak or your engine is not getting enough air.

                        I remember putting the Bosch BOV and the car was running fine. Then the BOV diaphram ripped the rpm was fluctuating at idle, because the air was coming off the hole.

                        But check for vacuum leak first.

                          I was thinking maybe the MAF screen is removed from the throttle body. Is this a pre-owned car, or are you the first owner? If you're not the first owner, check and see if the screen is still in there.
