Hey guys, well it must seem like i vanished off the face of the earth, but i was actually finishing up my school over the summer. I graduated with a degree in business (Marketing and MIS majors, for those who are curious) and now i'm looking for work. When find work, i plan to spend nearly half of my salary on my precious car. So here's what i had in mind.
I'm going to sell the powerdyne supercharger kit that i've had on for the past 2 years. The talk of this turbo 3.8 kit has gotten me all excited. I feel its time for a change, the powerdyne unit was great, but not for high boost applications. The thought of "dialing in ur boost" sounds so cool. Besides, i want to hit maybe 12-14 psi of boost, and it is recommended that the powerdyne unit doesn't go over 12 psi or somewhere around there I believe. So anyone who wants to hit low 14's/high 13's cheaply, can contact me and make me an offer, I don't know exactly how much i'm looking for. The blower was rebuilt 2 months ago buy powerdyne, and comes with a warranty by them as well.
Along with my turbo project, i want to install a cam and p&p'd heads (the supersix pack or equivilant). And since the motor is going to be in pieces i'm planning on strengthening up the internals so i can run higher boost, safely. Primarily, i'm thinking the rods and pistons need replacement, do u guys think anything else needs to be replaced if i plan on running close to 15psi? All of that, along with some computer tuning should get me some fairly strong numbers(i hope).
Sorry i missed replying to some of your messages guys, i really didn't even take a look at this board until last week. I must say though, that the 3M tape held together pretty good on the powerdyne, but to me, it looks like Greenglow's solution is a little better.
So i'm pretty sure i'm back, and those are my plans over the winter months !
If anyone has any suggestions for what internal parts to go with, i.e. cam specs & brand, p&p'd brand, rods, pistons, computer tuning etc. It would be a great help to me and would apprecaite it very much, as i'm not very familiar with the internal parts of the motor.
thanks, and i'll keep you guys posted
