Speed Density is the way to go if all out power is what you're looking for. It's a bit harder to tune for, but once you get it, it's an awesome way to go. Having a MAF based system is a must if you like to adjust your boost settings alot. For me, when i build my motor, if i do SD, i'll have a high boost tune and a low boost tune, and just load the high tune into the computer for a day at the track.

Personaly... i think SD is alot easyer.. the VE maps are more strait forward to edit.. where as the MAF table is tricky.. and needs more balance, care and attention to really work properly..
the only thing you really need to consider once you get a good SD tune down is some of the effects with weather changes ect.. and a little maintence to keep that up.. beyond that its not a huge deal.. expecialy becuase they are expanding the stock tables to be alot larger it will help alot with the small changes that occur.. thus in theory making it closer in accuracy to MAF based tuning..
its not bad.. not perfect i admit.. but not bad.. and shuld be able to pull of similar reults with less trouble.. and more repetable results as well.. alot less is left up to chance with speed density..
we will see..

I have worked on a SD tune and had it working great except for one area. Idle! Unlike the V8s, HP tuners does not give us any idle controls. I could not get the car to idle no matter what I tried. HP Tuners said they will be adding the idle controls for the V6 but they do not know when. Without those controls, the car is not drivable. I do not think any V6ers have gotten an SD tune working because of this issue. If I am wrong, let me know. I would love to have some others take a stab at this since I am certainly not the most knowledgable. But as far as I can tell, we need the idle controls to make this work.2001 Firebird 3.8L V6 M5,
It once had....
NX Nitrous Wet Kit, ZZP X-P Hot Cam,
3.42 LSD, Pacesetter Headers,
36# Injectors, HP Tuners
322 RWHP, 379 RWTQ
13.596 @ 102.56 w/100 shot
