OK this is the deal here. I have become VERY interested in supercharging my engine since I took a ride in a T-bird SuperCoupe, Buick GN, and the information I have read on the ATI kit that is hopefully coming out in July. So my question is what can our motors take on boost with stock internals with and without an intercooler? Is it true that with the ATI kit if all goes as they plan we can run like 10lbs. of boost on a stock motor without damage (even though our motors are not intended for boost)? Also to all that have a supercharger on there car now how long have you had it and have you had any problems? Thanks for the help everyone. Man I want a supercharger SO bad! But at the same time I don't want to do damage to my engine if the stock parts can't handle the boost. Thanks a lot for the help.

Not to be mean, but all these questions are answered in the pages of supercharging info...
First off, yes our motors can handle boost, how much, we don't know yet.
Second, the ATI kit has an intercooler to get that *projected* 10 lbs of boost.
A supercharger is going to wear out the engine a little more just like any part that puts more stress on the engine. If you are good with maint and aren't on the throttle all the time, the extra wear & tear will be minimal.
Max we know we can handle w/ out an intercooler is 6lbs, but can't test above that because the only kit out there isn't designed very well and cannot make more than 6lbs of boost.

Just to clarify, the ATI kit will NOT be available in July to the general public. August of 2003, maybe. Only the 10 Beta testers will be getting the kit this July. Do a search for more details on this kit.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com
