    hi~

    i need help...

    as i posted..before..my car had detonated...

    so.. my machanic is seperating engine from car..

    sorry..about poor explanation....^^;

    as you know.. i am a korean in korea..

    hmm... so.. this time is bigchance to me...to

    tuning my engine....

    my machanic will disassemble my engine...

    and he will find what is problem of my angine..

    and he will fix then he will assemble...it.

    i think.. before he assemble it i can change something accessories of my engine.

    can you recommand... about that?

    i hope.. i dont want detonation of my car...again.

    so it should be safety tunig....

    what is safe tunig to my engine..

    and i dont want expence tuning..^^;;

    because this time i have to spend much money..

    fixing car and changefull Exhaust.. mods..

    my cars state is almost normal..

    i just change powerdyne supercharger pully..

    it is smaller than stock P/D fully..

    it made over 7psi..boost..i expected 9psi..

    and in kroeai dont konw.. about fuel octane...

    i think 91-94octane...

    how can i setting my car...

    please.. help me...

    in korea..

    we have just one firehawk.. it is 2001 6MT

    he is my friend...

    his car also detonated 1month ago..

    the piston was detonated..

    he have to change his engine..

    so he prepared anothor engine from america..

    it will arrive in 1month..

    why i tell this story is that... i can use his..

    engine accessories...like velve spring rocker arms...

    if it is good tunig for my engine..

    i can use it...

    please i need help... :(

    I really am sorry to hear what has happen. Were you running too lean? Do you FMU? Did you use your boost retardant or TRC1? It is very important because the octane rating might be very low in Korea.

    I would e-mail some of the pros here before embarking on another force induction. Talk to Taigo, Magnus or Bliggidi about engine rebuild. Chances are you might not needed it. It could be a knock from poor gasoline due to low octane rating.

    How does the engine run without the supercharger?

    Full exhaust set up would help minimize detonation.

      i have FMU and TRC-1 hmm...

      but what was problem is that when i installed

      TRC-1 i didnt know.. how i could use TRC-1

      so.. sometimes i put TRC-1 middle(10)

      .. and high(20)and low(0) so...in each case...

      whenever i controled TRC-1 i tried to feel how my car was reactioned.. [img]smile.gif[/img]

      but i couldnt.. find which level is good for me..

      finally i figured out it in here...


      somebody said to me if i use 90-91 octane..

      i should TRC-1 put level 1 or 2....

      ^^; but my car was allready detonated....

      ;) and i doubt about fuel pressure...

      i dont know.. if fuel pressure is enough or not..

      i think.. it might lean...--;

      i was doubt fuel pressure before my car was detonated...

      i have to solve this problem.... :rolleyes:

      and i dont have fuel pressure guage..

        you dont' have to rebuild unless you ahve some serious mechanical failure in teh engine from the detonation. Does it make loud knock when it runs? does it even run? loud noises? those things would send you in the rebuild road.

        sense fuel seems to suck over tehre, go with some really low CR pistons just for safety if you have to rebuild. Rebuild with stock L67 internals and you shoudl be fine.

          Woojong, are you saying that you had detonation before the supercharger was even installed? I might be wrong but it almost sound like that's what your saying.

          Have you tried going with colder spark plugs like the NGK TR6 gapped at .035?

          Since you have 42,000 on the car already, have you tried having your fuel injectors cleaned? I have a guess that since gasoline is not good in quality, the injectors might be dirty and preventing it from delivering proper fuel for an air/fuel mixture.

          Tell your mechanic to check for abnormal combustion. With and without the supercharger. If you hear a knock. Add a high octane additive see what happens. Do everything possible before going to an engine rebuild route. Too save yourself some money.

            thanks...

            hmm.. before i had detonation... i checked...

            my engine to mechanic..

            he said..to me.. there is not any knock...

            so.. my car didnt go with knock.. i think..^^;

            in my opinion..

            when i have P/D supercharger.. i just have 2psi

            boost.. it was not different with normal car..

            at that time i could hear strange belt sound..

            it was small sound and the sound was made by

            suprecharger belt when it turns..

            i thought maybe i set supercharger a little bit

            wrongly..

            after i seperated supercharger 3times...

            sometimes i could that strange sound sometimes..

            i couldnt... so.. i ignored that sound...

            it was small sound..

            but finally when i have small supercharger fully

            i want to test my car..

            so i drove my car like drag mods..^^;

            maybe 4times.. after.. i could strange big sound..

            from under hood and i could see smoke from back

            of my car...

            and that big sound..was like same as i heared

            before.(i thought it was belt sound..but i was wrong.. i think..)

            hmm.. today.. i can know what was wrong..^^;;

            what is that? i cant understand about L67 internals..and CR pistons.. can you explain about that for me?

            and i have a question

            should i have to tuning ECU?

            in korea.. if someone set turbo or supercharger..

            even N/A tunig they tune ECU(like mapping..^^ ;)

            many people said to me i have to tune ECU chip..

            but i read many time..in here...even we have

            supercharger we dont need ECU tuning..

            if we tune ECU maybe it will be better

            but if we dont tune ECU its ok~

            its what i think from here..

            we dont have under 90 octane fuel in korea..

            it is our law...

            before i had detonated i couldnt hear big noise..

            just i could feel when i dirve over 4500rpm..

            the car didnt have power.. before 4500rpm..

            i could feel powerfull..

            is it make sence..?
