  • THE TURBO IS ON!!!!

    Hey ladies,
Just wanted to inform you that I finished tacking my Y-pipe together tonight and put my turbo on. I'm so happy. The only thing is, I wanted to ask you, my oil outlet will probably sit just above the fitting in the oil pan if not on the same level, will it flow back to the pan alright? I'm using a -4 AN inlet and -10 AN Outlet. I placed the fitting fairly high on the oil pan because I wanted it to be above the oil level while the engine is running so it would be easier for the oil to drain back in. What do you guys think?

I honestly don't know. Can you guage from the fact that I'm teeing off the pressure sending unit, using a -4 AN(1/4") line to the turbo inlet, then a -10 AN(5/8") line to the oil pan fitting....

tdz16: Where did you mount the turbo? I am curious to know if you don't mind telling me. You should use some sort of restriction to keep oil pressure down also.

I mounted it up front, about in line with the crank pulley. I made custom manifolds/headers and a y pipe to the front. What type of restriction are you talkin about? With a -10 return it won't just flow through? Also, with regards to my initial question, will the pressure kinda force the oil through the return if its on an even level with the oil pan fitting? I just don't wanna kill my turbo in the first week....
