I've been thinking about this for a while now and contemplating if I should spend the money doing it or not. How much money and work do you think would be involved in doing a SSM heads/cam and ATI supercharger (when it comes out) with 10+lbs of boost

www.3800performance.com makes overbore pistons for our cars. they're forged and come in 9.5;1 .010 overbore, 8.5:1 .010 and .020 overbore, and 8.0:1 .020 overbore pistons. they're $998 for a set of six and come w/ wrist pins and rings also. I'd get these if you plan on running boost w/ the 50 shot you already have, or even if you just plan on running w/ a sc. the displacement will only go up .4-.5 for .010 overbore and .8-1.0 for .020 overbore. the heads/cam and intake mods you've done will cause you to run lower boost but make more power since the air and fuel can move more freely through the engine. the heads/cam and sc kit will be about $7000 in parts if you get the custom programming done from ati, or $6500 if you don't want programming. the ati kit can be put on by you, but unless you have the right tools and have worked on engines before, have sombody reputable put the heads/cam on. at 70-80 bucks an hour for, I'd say, 5-6 hours of work, you'll spend another $350-$480 for install, at least. you'll have some big hp/tq gains from these mods. also, look into getting some self-adjusting hot rockers. yes, they have said they have a guy from gm who developed the OBDII computer. They say it's about 450-500 for the programming and all you have to do is sent the guys the current specs of what you've done to the car and he'll set up the computer according to what you give him. I don't know if he's doing this yet, since is was included along w/ the sc kit for the beta testers, and they haven't got their kits yet(I think).2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!
