Your engine block is good and heads are good, Isn't it? If it is then buy some of the L67 parts for it to make it stronger and to lower its compression ratio.

Where is the engine being bought from?

They should know about the year of the engine and its record.

Moderator and Woojong, this would be best answered in Advance Tech. Good Luck

Wow, how does the crankshaft on a 3800 get damaged? I've never heard of that!

Maybe the crank was scored by a bad bearing or something???

According to Heming's, a crankshaft on a NA 3800 is rated to go over 400hp and 650hp on the turbo GN.

Crank just doesn't break that easily, the cam would go first before the crank. But I don't know Woojong your situation there.

As long as there's no damage to the block. You can just buy the L67 parts. With the low compression it will help you with the gas quality there and run the SC safely.

Keep us updated.

thanks...

many people said about L67...

what is that?

i cant understand...

now.. my engine.. is building everything..

new pistons,crankshaft,bearings etc...

hmm.. L67 might be late...

and my crankshaft was not broken..

i meant hmm. how i can explain that...

like was warned.. ^^;be rubbed off...^^;

and i will have slp tuning valves....

and clear image automotive's headers Ypipe..

and i will have tuning exhaust...

and i will have fuel adjustment chip(it is connect
ed ECU------i heared like this.. i dont

know what it is..exactly...)

and have SCU 2000 speed control...(for top speed limit cut)

how do you think about that match..? ^^:

any advice... thanks...

Ever heard of the Pontiac Grand Prix woojong?

It is a 3800 series II (like your engine) that is supercharged out of the factory.

The code for your engine & all 3.8's in firebirds & camaros is "L36". The code for the Grand Prix engine is "L67".

The pistons are stronger & will provide lower compression (about 8.5:1) so you can run more boost.

You can only run bottom end components from a L67 though. The supercharger is a screw type (meaning it sits on top of the engine rather than being in an accessory position like your powerdyne), so the intake is very different as is injector placement.

You could lift the rods, pistons, & crank from a newer L67 (or from one of their aftermarket sites) to get better performance for about the same price.
