My buddy has a Buick Riviera and I can feel the enormous amounts of heat when I stand beside his car sometimes. This must be from his supercharger I've always thought. Which would be better at keeping the engine bay cooler? I'm guessing turbo. opinions? facts?

Superchargers run cooler, the reason being that turbos run off the exhaust gasses of a car, which are extremely hot.
Its a tradeoff between turbo & super. Turbo has lag & lots of heat, but it more efficient. Super has much less lag, less heat, easier to install & maintain, but not as efficient.
To keep the engine bay cool, some heat extractors would work nicely.
Sometimes an engine can fool you though, my mother's Blazer has a belt-driven fan. Makes the engine seem much hotter while idling becuase its blowing all that hot air right where your hands go. F-bodies on the other hand have a couple electric fans that point down and you don't really feel the heat coming off them.
