You know they (RK sport) make the kit for 99+ now, so why dont you just buy it so you dont have to adjust...

I also would like to know what is involved in this? Not in buying the 99-02 kit, but adapting the pre 99 kit to fit the Whisper Lid.

Trying to get a Whisper lid to work WITH the supercharger? Won't happen, the charger is mounted down deep and it's a hundred times easier to just use a K&N cone filter that leads straight to the charger rather than to try to rig hoses from the Whisper lid to the charger. Besides, cone filters flow better than rectangular ones, if at all possible you should avoid using the Whisper system...

mike huff has his working like that...we tried on this install but no luck, I think Mike has the crooked TB, which freed up some room.

Yup yup, it worked for me. Like Tiago said I think the angled TB gave me the hood clearance to run the whisper lid.

I'd take a whisper lid with outside air induction over a cone filter stuck to the blower sucking in hot air any day. On a non-intercooled setup you want the coldest air possible. (unless you have a N20 nozzle to chill the charge) :D If you run a cone filter try to pipe it over to the fender well.

IMHO if the Vortech kit works on an LS1 with a stock lid I think the 3" whisper lid will sufice just fine.

There was a thread with lots of usefull info on this last week:
