• Intrest in a turbo kit?

I am guaging intrest in a turbo kit. The intial kit will be for 99+ cars only (my car is a 2000 so the first kit wont be made to fit the angled TB,but anyone could get a new pipe made to fit it)

First I need to know what yall would prefer:
    Twin Turbo:4000-4500
    Single turbo:3500-4000

I need to know how intrested you are in both kits. How long it would be before you could pay for the kit in total. (if its gonna be like 6 months before people could pay for it i dont need to rush anything, you get what i am saying) i dont wanan make a kit be able to have it out next month and people not have the money ready, so i would be sitting with about 10 turbo kits with no money in my pocket

I would probly ask for a down payment of 300-500 dollars might be 2 payments of 500 (basicly this would pay for the turbo and other little things, would kinda hurt my pocket book to go out and buy 5k dollars worth of turbos all out my pocket, i need that to pay for the rest of the kit.) and the first run of kits would be limited to 10 or so

I have to talk with my dad to see if he will let me use some of my college money to get the kit going. I will show him this thread to show him how much intrest there is for it. I think there s a 50/50 shot of him saying yes.

Hopefully he will say yes to alteast me getting my kit to see what the price is gonna be like and to show that it works good. (his biggest thing is not blowing my engin lol but when a engin is only 500 its not that much

I personaly cant put a warrenty on the kit. (its to easy for someone to turn up the boost and blow there engin cause they were dumb and wanted 20hp more to beat a heads cam z28) should have a warrenty on the turbo itself though hopefully.

the kit will include everything. Intercooler, turbo, piping, headers, BOV, waste gate, manuel boost controller. no its not gonna be a blitz BOV or a APEX digital boost controller. that would add like 700 dollars to the kit. if like 5 people all wanted the same stuff though and didnt mind paying the 700 extra i would see if i could get discounts on the stuff if i can buy enough they may take a little off the price not sure though.

i am curently have some compter trouble so if i dont answere right away hold on. Dont ask what is included I will say later if it works out. To be honest i would like 20+ people to be intrested the first run of kits would done i would hope in about 3 months or so and another run maybe 3 months after that

oh yea performance wise i belive with heads and cam and the kit should make about 350rwhp on 10psi
and i am hoping for mucho tq like 400 ft/lbs of tq

hehe and we all know tq wins races hp sells cars lol

turbos would be either T04B or T04E for a single and probly T03's for the twin maybe the T03/04 hybrid we shall see though

I like it, can't afford it now, but next summer I'll have the cash for forced induction, either your single or twin setup, or the procharger, whichever works better for me when I go to make the purchase

lol thats what i figured only thing is if my dad wont back me i wont put out a kit just get my kit which dosnt really matter when i get it. I figure if i am gonna put out a kit i might as well try and i figure this is a good way. Hell if i can get the money i will have my kit in like a month other wise it will be a couple months with out any backing. But with backing i could produce a kit for everyone else, it would be to hard to put out one kit at a time untill i had enough to put out say 10 kits.

i dont wanan put out a sorry kit or be like here are the headers go get you a turbo and try to do he piping yourself lol

ohh yea i may produce like a stage 1 kit which would be the kit without an intercooler basicly. you couldnt run as much boost and wouldnt be quiet as fast but it would be like having a powerdyne compaired to having the procharger. would take off about a 1000 off the price so people could hurry get it on then save for the intercooler. im still thinking about that though

Area 51 in Irvine, California say they do a Turbos on V6 f-cars. I'm weary to say go for it because Turbos alot harder to tune up. I say before you could sale a Turbo charger for our cars, have a proto-type first and then beta testers. Just to be in the safe side and not blow your engine. But in any case good luck

I'd be interested, but I don't have the cash right now. I only make between 500-700 a month, plus I have a few expenses. Personally, I'd like to see your kit pass a california smog test. if it can do that, I'll be willing to buy it later on down the road. Of course, when dealing w/ me, you gotta go for the best of everything. I'd be willing to pay the extra for the Blitz BOV, wastegate controler, turbo timer, custom tuning, ect. I'd like to see a pair of T3/T4 hybrids on the twin turbo kit. Also, will the kit come w/ new cat. converter(s) and Y-pipe?

Jason, I think the best thing to do is get this on your car, and do some dyno and track testing. Then if the results are good enough there will be multitudes of interest in your kits - me being one. Turbocharging is much more effecient than Supercharging so there should be just as many people willing to buy this kit as the Procharger kit.

Silver3800V6FBodyKY yea thats what i am gonna do and unless there is overwelming intrest in it I wont do it. I dont have the time and what not to peice together kits I would love to make like 10 kits at a time not only saves money.

I hope i can get the kita and some more goodies by chistmas or so and get some good track times in this winter. If i can i am sure people would be intrested.

To be honest I belive ill be able to hit an 11 with a convter we shall see though

Jason, it won't be hard to hit 11s if you do the setup right. I've seen Mustang V6s in the 11s with Turbochargers, and they are a lot weaker than ours. But I assure you that the interest will be there if you have proven the kit worthy. Everyone knows that it takes around 100 Horsepower to run your average Supercharger, and the input is 200 Horsepower giving you a 100 Horespower advantage. But with Turbocharging, no power is being lost - follow through with this project, and others will.

If you build it, they will come. - Good Movie.
