  • low boost with powerdyne...

I recently installed a 6lb. powerdyne kit on my 1997 firebird and am only reading 4lbs. of boost and then around 5 thousand rpms it drops down to around 1-2lbs before it shifts. Is it normal for the boost to drop off before the shift? My vacuum is 15 at idle and 20 when going down the road. What can I do to increase the boost reading to 6lbs? I have tried tightening the drive belt and I don't appear to have any vacuum leaks. I think I read on here that Shirl's car once had had low boost due to a restrictive exhaust but I have a full exhaust including headers so that shouldn't be a problem. I have yet to finish hooking up my fuel pressure gauge but the car runs fine and it doesn't seem to be pinging which makes me think it is getting plenty of fuel. So anyone who has an idea why im getting a low boost reading please let me know...

By the way I just wanted to say thanks to Mcaanda for posting that install guide because there is no way I could have got this installed without it!
