Considering the Oil Filter is on the front of the engine and the Y-pipe is at the back, I seriously doubt it's the filter. It's could be a number of things. I'd guess check the Oil Pan gasket 1st and go from there.

Its from the PAN/Rear Main leaking down from above the y pipe and burning/dripping down.
Very common problem

Shirl..It's not the oil filter..Already been there and done that...Filed my powerdyne bracket down so problem was solved.
Sorry I havent got under there yet. Been pretty busy lately.

Mine does the same, but it's condensation from the combustion process, seeping down the pipes and through small cracks. Looks and feels alot like oil, but it's not. Are you burning oil??<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a> THE SOURCE!Comment

I put in some stop leak and it is working alot better.... Only slightly smoking now and the oil is still at a decent level.
Sorry I havent got under there yet. I had planned to do it this weekend but they called me up at the last minute and told me I had to work.......
