  • Got my AEM wideband setup today!

    ITS FRICKEN MONEY!!!

its the new AEM UGEO setup

wideband sensor with digital readout and a color coded bar.. which is nice..
it looks reallllly good.. www.aempower.com for pics..

fits in a 2-1/16 guage pod..

its accurate to 0.1 which is pretty dam good.. IMO.. and had about 50,000 mile life on the sensor.. and its only like $100 for a new calibrated sensor..

    PLUS!!!

I was reading the manual.. with a little bit of effort and wire splicing you can hook that mofo up to a computer and log your data via a windows communications app called hyperterminal! OR you can hook it up to an aftermarket program.. even a dyno.. THEN it also has a 5 volt narrow band emulator that acts like a nornal o2 sensor..

it meen it has it all.. and its one of the cheepest setups i have seen.. at like around 400..

I am really digin' this.. yall sc and turbo peeps really ought to look into it.. expecialy if you plan on doing tuning.. it will save you alot of dyno time.. and plus have the added security of a wideband setup 24/7

If you were a aempower sales person I would say that is the best most imformative wide band O2 sensor ad I have seen.
I think I will get one of those, I like it.

yeah AEM'S WEBSITE BLOWS.. they give you the most minimal amout of info about it as possible.. i was like WTF.. I hope this thing is good.. but i read afew reviews and asked around.. its reallllly nice..

the only one that i think i would like a little better was the wideband commander by dynojet.. it has the same 02 sensor and sutch..

but its got a few more nice features.. you can acctualy tweek the output of the sensor and make it mess with you ecu.. and it logs rpm also.. but its also about 150-200 more.. and not quite as pretty.. and a little more involved to install and setup right..

I dunno.. if i get motovated i am gunna tap our ecu and see if i cant figure out a way to log the rpms along with the O2 readings.. but that will be a bit of a chalange.. getting those communications to work out.. we will see.. i am not to pressed for it right now..

it was $400 when i got it.. but now its like.. $450... i got it from prostreetonline.com.. i think summit sells them for like 380 now.. or so i hear..

also check out the wideband commander by dyno jet.. its a much more involded install.. a little more expensive, and the guage is not nice and digital and pretty.. but.. it has a bunch of nice features that would probably be helpfull to you and tiago.. like beaing able to adjsut the o2 readings to your ecm.. its not something you would want to run all the time.. but.. it would be a nice for a little bit of quick testing.. or a quick way to lean / richen it up at the track if nessisary..
it will also log rpm along side the AF.. wich is nice too..

It's cool that wideband o2's are finally getting afforadable and what not, but untill they're 1/2 the price of EGT gauges and probes, what's the point. O2 meters are better for light shows. EGT's are alot more accurate in determining your engines limits. You'll know real quick if your running lean as your EGT skyrockets.

O2 info is useful but in the big sceam of things not too practical.

It will be very nice once stock cars start using them though.
