I understand that you guys build kits now and sell them. How much for the kit? what does it include, and what will i need to do to get it to just bolt on and work. Cause im thinking your kit wont bolt up to a stock engine, lol, although it would be nice. Thanks

Just a quick question.....What is a good guess at what a 3.8L stock fbody would run with the turbo?SOLD - 1999 Black Firebird
A4, T-tops, 3.42 gears, Y87 Package
[Appearance mods] Chrome side vents, Pontiac metallic silver rear inlay
[Performance mods] TSP Rumbler
PICS

The turbo would most diffinitely have my stock bird in the low 13's? I have an auto, so I wouldn't be seeing a good as a gain as an manual I would assume. Are there many different turbos out there for the 3.8L or just a few? I haven't really hear much on the topic, thats why I am asking so many questions [img]smile.gif[/img]SOLD - 1999 Black Firebird
A4, T-tops, 3.42 gears, Y87 Package
[Appearance mods] Chrome side vents, Pontiac metallic silver rear inlay
[Performance mods] TSP Rumbler
PICS

ok hear is the deal. there is only one kit for your car unless you do a custom job like im saving up for. the best turbo for a stock 3.8 has been the t3/t4 hybrid. this is not where it ends though. you then have to decide what trim fits you what ar is right for you and all kinda things. basically you have to decide how much peak hp you want, how fast you want it to spool, and how much you want to spend. its really hard to give you a specific answer.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Lets say I wanted to keep the parts price around $3k plus installation. I'd want the turbo for a decent 1/4 time and also for bragging rights that I have a turbo in a firebird :D Not something you see or hear about often [img]smile.gif[/img]SOLD - 1999 Black Firebird
A4, T-tops, 3.42 gears, Y87 Package
[Appearance mods] Chrome side vents, Pontiac metallic silver rear inlay
[Performance mods] TSP Rumbler
PICS

for three grand i would say just buy the kit if you dont know much about turbos. i have been researching for over a year now on turbos and S/C's and have come up with ar garret t3/t4 with a compressor 50 or 60 trim, and an AR of about 60. also look into the ball berring vs journal berring turbos, balls are better but a lot more expensive. then you have to look at how you want to run your exhaust. I plan on the forward swept headers like shane has and putting the turbo in front of my engine, taking advantage of the space i have there by not having the extra two cylinders. after that i havent quite decided where to run my exhaust but the easiest thing to do would be to run under the k-member (this can only be done if you live somewhere flat like florida, texas, or nevada because otherwise you will proabably bottom out on your exhaust). no you have to decide what intercooler you want. if you are going to go air to air like most people then what you want to look for is the flow rate, the cooling factor, and if it is bar and plate or tube and fin (bar and plate is much better). Now if you have decided to be different, like me, you can do a water to air intercooler. these are not as efficient as air to air unless you ice them down. water cooling is a lot more expensive and a lot more involved from a fabrication standpoint. now there is another option whether or not you use a nitrous spray to cool down your intercooler. this is a pretty good idea, especially for water cooling which you can hook it up to the radiator of the system to cool it down. now you have to find a decent blow off valve to save the life of your turbo, it prevents the air from pushing back on the turbo and damaging it. you could also use a bov as a recirculation valve but im not going in to that. now for wastegates. you have to decide on the cheaper but reliable internal wastegate, it has to be ordered with the turbo, or a more expensive more tunable external, these also have creep more often than internals so dont think external is always better. now that you think your done we have to address the fuel system. first you NEED an FMU. get an adjustable one, like a cartech. now you will probably need a fuel pump. the walbro 255 is great and there is an install guide in one of the posts from a while back, it requires you to cut a piece out in you trunk and then weld it back in. now all that is left is if you want to upgrade injectors. i beleive the LT1 and even the LS1 injectors will work and will be a lot bigger than stock. thats all i can think of right now but im sure i forgot something it that long post.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard
