I wish I knew. I was planning on building up another motor and running my stock one till it blew to find out just how much it could hold. Money is low right now though so that will not be happening anytime soon.

I would think somewhere around 15 PSI consisitantly on stock internals would probably cause failure eventually. However no one can know until someone does it.

porsche 911 twin turbo has 9.4:1 compression they run .7-.8 bar about 10-12psi thats with their great computer and forged internals and great materials the engin is made out of not iron like ours (IE their engin disapates heat faster then ours)

some porsche performance companys will raise boost to 1 bar or up to 1.1bar (14.7- 16psi) but i belive thats when race gas is used and if they arnt using race gas a very good computer tune at the very least

those are some awsome numbers, i cant wait to get my car running smoothly with the turbo system, i want to prove all the people wrong that told me the 3800 v6 is a junk engine and with a turbo it wont be anything good.

I wouldn't want to run high levels of boost on my 3.8, engine life would be affected.

With an intercooler, correct tuning, and a good fuel delivery setup, 12 psi, close 400 pounds of torque is not a dream anymore

It's going to be awsome to see our engines in action with ported heads, turbo cam, forged pistons, shot peen rods, shot peen crank. Thats all we really need, i bet we can make 450 pounds of torque with just boost on a safe note. We better start thinking of our transmissions

id also like to add to this conversation,

the 3800 v6 motor is looked at as a economy engine. The big performance freaks out there that read magazines pointed directly to v8 and Imports, they look at it as a worthless motor and is weak. (its not weak)

On the contrary, I have heard many professional mechanics describe it as a beefy engine that can take quite a bit of abuse. The fact that it can take that abuse makes a great candidate for forced induction. It's the problem of people are unaware of the aftermarket that is growing bigger for the 3800 series II motor.

I showed my buddy the video of the turbo grand prix, i can tell he is jealous that my car has more potential, than his legendary turbo 4 banger. No matter what I say he has something negative to say. For whatever reason, he thinks his 4g63 has more potential than

After the video the words out of his mouth were "that cant be real, it has to have a intercooler, you dont know what you are talking about, that engine will break, no way is that stock, you'll see, you'll see" denial is great to

even my pops has his doubts

and im tired of people saying i have a b|tch car and a wimpy v6
