I'm using a 2.90" pulley with the VS cam 206/216 115ls, I'm only seeing about 6-7 pounds of boost max with this pulley. My question is, would the cam affect the boost level and is it more effective? Also should I go ahead and run a smaller pulley like around 2.60". What do you guys think?

a good blower cam will definatly effect the boost levals.. it will effectly let more air in to the motor.. makeing it run more efficently and "consume" more of that pressure..

you could run a smaller pully.. if you want more pressure.. IMO see waht you are making now.. maybe look into intercooling that mofo.. then consider a smaller pully..

      Less boost is good.
Some guys build mild-medium blower engines then put those 6 and 8 psi charger kits on and only get 4-5psi mainly because the psi numbers are off a stock engine and thers are built with intercooler, cam and heads.
Heads, cam, valve jobs, porting all will lower your boost but you will be feediing about the same mass of air into the engine, more volume flow = less pressure = about the same mass.
Bottem line is they make more power with 4-5psi then the guys making 6-8psi.
