2 simple turbo questions

first off, i did a search here and on other boards. so with that said:

1) does a supercharger system require less mainetenance than a turbo system(like in terms of reliability/longevity)? im trying to decide between SC and TC, and this is the main thing im concerned about. my car ahs about 55k miles, and to me that's relatively low

2) should i mod everything else (engine, intake[well thats pretty much done actually], exhaust, etc.) before i add a SC or TC?

1. Superchargers in general are easier to install. If you get high quality systems for either SC or TC then neither will give more problems than the other.

2. Its really up to you, its deffinately better to have the engine ready for FI before you throw a system on but our engines hole up to moderate amounts of boost with stock internals pretty well.

I would say Turbo myself. The reason is no belt problems. Also NO newer cars come from the factory with a Centrifugal supercharger. However alot of cars come with turbos.

The belt issues can be overcome fairly easily now that the John D wrap was discovered. Turbos are used on production cars because they are much more efficient and it is easy to add a turbo at the factory because they can design the piping in. No you wont ever see centrifugals on a factory application because there are better SC options that they can design in fairly easy but for the aftermarket modder a centrifugal is a viable option and can offer pretty decent gains. What you have to decide is do you want ultimate power but a more involved install (turbo) or decent power and very easy install (supercharger).
