always put your alarm on vallet when programming the PCM
:-\
otherwise its a 270.00 mistake.
My after market alarm auto armed its self and killed the power to my car while the car was being programed with the Tech 2.
Once that happened, the tech 2 couldn't communicate with the PCM to continue programming it.
I couldn't turn the car back on either so the PCM is pretty much toast.
If i wasn't in a time crunch, i could send the PCM to Magnus and have him rewrite the chip with stock code and then try reprogramming it with the Tech 2. Although i haven't ruled this idea out completely. Actually the cost of the new PCM is 270+175, but the 175 is waived if you give the old PCM back to GM. I am going to ask Mach Performance if they want to have Magnus take a look at it or if they want to just get the new PCM.
In any case none of the beta testers have to worry about something like this happening to them because their chips are programmed on an external PCM harness that has power to it. All prgramming is done outside the car.
The only reason we left the PCM in my car and prgrammed it that way was for convience, and the fact we didn't think that anything would happen. Bill programs PCMs all the time and this is the first time anything like this happened so it wasn't something that could have been anticipated although now this is one for the experience books.
Well as soon as i get my new PCM and get it reprogrammed, i will let you guys know.
BTW beta testers, i would e-mail you but i am sick at home and not at work today.
Talk to you all later.
