I was told that a super charger or turbo works best with a stock engine. Is that true? and also which is better, supercharger or turbo? I see alot of people leaning towards turbos, why is that?

You can also read the link in my sig, our engines handle 7 psi without many problems. You can go as high as 10 on the stock internals but its a little more risky. A quick comparison for SC vs. TC is that a supercharger will usually be much easier to install and maintain and offers very respectable gains, a turbo will be harder to intall and maintain but will offer optimal power.
