  • Spark Plug Wire debate.

Im debating on what ones to get.....I need something that would be good for a FI car and can stand lotta heat.....I was looking at Taylors, Magnecor KV85, and MSD's.

    What you think?

I like Taylor the best. I've tried Magnecor before but on the 89 and it was OK.

I dunno.. I kinda don't like the bulky Taylor ends, they seem to trap and keep heat for a while. That being said.. I do run them on both our cars with minimal fuss. :D

whatever wires you get you can jsut get soem heat sleeve for them. accel and msd both offer heat sleeves, they are available through summit, jegs, and paw
unless you have a hotter than stock ignition system, big wires are more for peace of mind than they are for more hp.
personally i have always been a fan of accel stuff. i have never had any fit or finish problems.

i used an ohm-meter to test the taylors and some accel 300+ 8.8mm's, at the same setting (20k), the taylors read 1.91, whereas the accels read .60 (i tested the same length each time), so the accel's are .8 mm thinker than the taylors, and seem to have less resistance.

basically any one of these will work, very little differences. the MSD 8.5's, Accel 300+ 8.8's, and the taylor spiro pros. (id go with the cheapest of the three)

This is 12secv6 signed on as misterjuice.

                      Accel extreme 9000 8mm wires.

Spark plug boots have a heat protective boot.

And you could add heat sleeves
