save up and get a pair straight from garrett. make sure that they're ball-bearing and have the new wheels that they just came out with. they will let u run w/ less backpressure, or quicker spool up, or both. also, a good idea for longevity of the turbo's is to have them cryo treated. they'd have to be disassembled, or maybe u can have garrett do it for u, and then put them back 2gether when they are done being treated.

Of Course there's always the cheap way to pick up a pair of T3 turbos.

83-88 2.3 Ford Turbo Motors (SVO stangs, Thunderbird Turbo Coupes, Capri RSs, Cougar XR7 and Merkur XR4Ti)

All of them had .60 a/r T3s if they were manual trans cars .48 a/r if they were autos.

86-88 T-coupes used an IHI casting.

Look around and you may be pleasantly surprised...

the ones im lookin at now are are a pair of new t25's with a turbine AR of 49 and compressor AR of 48. i think these are my best bet right now. they are 250 each on ebay so its in my price range, unlike the new ball bering which i agree would be optimal but out of my leauge.

ok these are the turbos im planning on
                  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742
i figure since i am going water to air I/C i should go water cooled turbo as well. Im getting one of the PWR 6"diameter 10" long intercoolers, a Johnson water pump is what im planning on now for the I/C, im getting some sort of motorcycle radiator for the system as well. havent decided on my scavage pump yet so any help with that would be appreciated. im also in need of suggestion on BOV's i need to find something for around 100-150 and i dont want a loud horn or anything just something that gets the job done well. I think the Cartech FMU is the best bang for the buck so thats what im gonna go with. and of course the good ole walbro 255 intank fuel pump (anyone know where the post about how to cut open a hole in your trunk to put in the pump is, i cant find it). thats all i know about right now, so how's it sound.

is it a 2.5 v6 probe? if so its going to be one hell of a fit, might have to do alot of custom work.

no, its a 2001 3.8 v6 firebird convertable. im planning out a twin setup and yes it will be one hell of a fit and a lot of customizing including Y-pipe, possibly headers, and probably the removal of some plasic work, not to mention i might need to relocate some other stuff in my engine compartment.

Actually, it shouldn't be too much of a nightmare to run twins in that car. The only thing that stopped me from doing it was i didn't have the extra money in my budget for a scavenge pump setup. Custom headers might be something to look into just so you can maximize what space you do have. Over on LS2.com, Eboggs jkvl posted alot of good sources of info on his Incon setup. It might be a good idea to base your system on something like that.. good luck with everything!

thanks, and yeah i know what ya mean about the scavenge pump, its a lot of cash but i think we need to have a twin on this site. And i've been trying to find some good pics of the routing the incon took for a while now, hope the link you gave me helps out otherwise i gotta do some plasic work around the tires.

Everyone around here is really anti twin turbo, but twins can be a good thing sometimes. Like when they greatly shorten the distance the exhaust has to travel.

Manufactures are always trying to minimize the cost to build their cars, so why do so many pick multiple turbo setups if they are more expensive and less efficent?

im not sure how much "more efficient they will be but i agree manufacurers always have resons. i think twins have longer life per turbo (since they dont have as much flow through them). also i would think there would be a neglegably lower spool time based on rotating mass and little things like that but im really doin just because i think its about ****in time "THE" v6 fbody source has one. i really see as being possible so im going for it. And i dont really understand why everyone is anti twin either other than price per horsepower. but anyway i think i got the pipe plan done today after a lot af messing around with my flex tube a measuring tape and finding what i can relocat to better places. anyway it will probably end up costing me just as much in parts and such as the FFF kit but a lot more work on my part puting the bastard in that cramped space. I at least have the utmost respect for incon now after really seing how they ran it, they are gods to me now. too bad they arent around anymore.
