  • FFF kit questions!!!

okay, so how come a barb fititng thing is used on a high pressure fuel line???

the three mechanics i have talked to wont put it in because of this. They are very worried its goin to slip off and spray fuel all over the engine and its gonna turn my car into a big ball of fire.

i dunno about you guys but this bothers me..

    is this true?

they did say it will prolly hold up but they can not risk it. It would ruin their business and they dont want to mess with a potential law suite.

they also said it would ride to low, i dont care and i knew it would ride low. Tunning would be an issue, duh, The other and last issue was that a pipe from the turbo runs directly by a radiator hose i think. They didnt like that but i dont see it causeing any major problems really.

anyway, any input would be nice.

i just wished i lived somewhere where ppl would just keep there mouths shut and do what i pay them to do.

so install the FMU your self...... the kit install is not really that hard hardest part would be FMU and tapping the oil pan.......

or just buy some tunning and lager injectors and ditch the FMU

tell your idiot mechanics to just install the fuel stuff in another manner and don't use the barb fittings?

I used High pressure hose and hose clamps to install my FMU. I dont know how the hell you would do it any other way...

sign a written agreement that if your car balls up in flames they arent held liable.

When i got my clutch installed.. the guy said they will only do it if they provide the clutch and tha parts..

He made me sign a written agreement that i supplied all the parts and that if there were any mechanical failures in the clutch they wotn be held liable..

When I had a FMU(I'm using a megasquirt for fuel and timing now) I cut the metal return line coming from the fuel rail in half, used one of those cheap double flare flaring tools and flared each cut side and used AN tube nuts from the speed shop and ran stainless braided line with AN fittings to and from the FMU. It worked fine and wasn't that expensive.

This is with a 3.4. I don't know if 3.8's have metal lines going to and from the fuel rail.
