• Turbo Setup finally done

Well, as some of you know I just got back from the desert and while in Kuwait I had a Precision PT61 Turbo and Precision Intercooler installed on my 3.8l M5. Well, I just got it back yesterday and I am vey please with it. I took pics but don't know how to up load them. It's http://www.cardomain.com/ride/247708 We put the turbo at 5psi cause I haven't got it tuned yet. I got the PT61T350 T4.68(turbo) Precision #1021(intercooler) along with a Tial 50mm(BOV) & Tial 44mm(wastegate), and a 3" down pipe with V-Band clamps that goes to my catback in which he took out the cat. He also added a eletric fuel pump but I can't remember the type but I think he said something like a wallburn or something. Anyways so now that I have no cats it's sounds deeper and my cat-back is a 2.5 inch which is good. He told me that I would probably need injectors and he said I'd just rather install my eletric water pump and MSD-4 Ignition before I tuned it, thats why he set it at 5psi. I want everyones opinion that has experience on turbos. BTw, if anyones wondering it only costed me $4401.19 and thats everything plus installation and a oil change, coolant flush and $10 worth of gas. Later

Very nice looking set up. If anything, I'd say you probably need a less restrictive exhaust system. 3" would be more appropriate for a turbo for less backpressure.

By electric fuel pump, do you mean inline? If its a walbro, its in tank, which is the way to go. 5psi won't need larger injectors, but if you go any higher you'll need either an FMU or larger injectors and a tune.

Is this an entirely custom kit?

It looks very original. Good job. I like the idea that it sits way down there for the oil to get to it, easily, and out as well.

Did you do this yourself?

Looking good !
Could you get better pictures for the pipes routing, from Turbo to cat. From Engine to Turbo you have FFF style I assume.

So, no FMU and no injectors/tuning? Does it run fine under 5psi?

I have no FMU nor injectors but I will probably buy those tomorrow or so. I'm not too sure what i want to do right now. I really don't drive it under boost i kindof just milk it so that it stays under vaccuum. I want to make sure that I don't mess anything up. I took a friend home yesterday and he has a SS and he had told me that my v6 was already pulling harder than his car and at the time I had it at 3-5 psi for like 10 secs at around 60-70mph. The turbo starts real strong at 2500rpms and keeps going up. I got it done at Polk Performance in Benton, AR from a friend of mine which he has done many turbo setups so I knew i was safe with him. I'll try to take more pics tomorrow...it's already dark here. Later guys.

Your thinking fuel pump. Water pump is on the engine.

$4401.19 is EVERYTHING.......parts, install, labor......EVERYTHING. www.polkperformance.com did it for me. His name is Don, seeing how I'm in Arkansas not many performance here but he is the best around here. I love my setup.

That really is a killer deal to have everything professionally done. Do you have any plans as far as tuning?
