  • preparing for supercharging???

now i have searched but im just not finding what i need to know. i just dont think the search likes me....anyways, im seariously looking at the powerdyne SC from lmperformance.com or the one from rksport.com. first off. are those kits the same and just being sold by the two companys or are they put together by each one which would mean they aren't the same. (nevermind, just saw on lmperfomance.com that the SC is a rksport product.) second, im looking for a kit that has EVERYTHING i would need so i dont start putting this together and find out i dont have something like a boost gauge or something. and last, what do i need to do to set up my car for the boost. i know exhaust but other than that im just not sure. should i do heads and cam first or what?
be nice guys, im not stupid just new to this section.

I did exhaust, fuel pressure gauge, boost gauge, and more fuel (I used a boost-a-pump, a walbro pump would work too).

And something to monitor a/f ratio. (I use autotap.)

        Spark plugs.

Boost gauge is not absolutely necessary, but it is good to know when it's making boost, and how much.

Fuel pressure gauge and a/f ratio are safety devices. To make sure you don't go lean and blow the motor. You might be able to get by without them. Especially if you upgrade the fueling, and if you don't start putting a higher boost pulley on.

Heads and cam might help some. But the blower pressure overcomes deficiencies in the heads. Where a port job might make a big difference when running na, it makes only a slight difference when running boost.

A cam designed for na might take away some of your performance. A large duration, high overlap cam will let boost bleed out through the exhaust. A blower cam would be better than the stock cam, but only a little.

Greenglow98 is still selling his. It already has an intercooler and a grooved pulley. This could save you some money.
