does the length of the intake plumbing to the intake side of the turbo effect it in any way. If so how much does it effect it.

shorter the better, but if you need it longer, to get colder air, that can be better than shorter and hot air.

yup.
shorter the better. Longer piping= more lag. But its almost negligible when youre talkinga bout just intercooler piping.Comment
