My mechanic that does work for me told me that he could do an v8 engine swap for about 4000 with everything and told me that the supercharger would mess up my engine is this a good idea to do this or is he lying about the supercharger messing up my engine. Any feed back is appreciated cuz Im at the point where I want my car to be faster so I don't know what to do and will a powerdyne make my car close to a stock z28

he didn't say what kind of v8 engine but he did say my car would be much faster and louder but I still love my v6 3.8 liter engine Im just looking into doing something to the v6 engine that would surprise a lot of v8 owners who think there car is fast cuz my father has 90 cadillac deville that he swears is faster than my car cuz its a v8 mabye I will go with nitro I don't know but one of these three options will be done soon.eric head

if you are not a mechanic i would suggest selling your car and get one that came with a v8. you are opening a BIG can of worms by having a 'pro' mechanic do an engine swap for you. it is not easy. it requires MANY things to be done and much more than just an engine as far as parts.
save some money and buy a v8 car.

Personally, I would rather have both the V8 and V6. There's no way I'm getting rid of my V6 car for a V8 f-body.
Besides, V8's are getting cheaper every year. The cheapest LS1 TA is $6800 with 130k. Ave. price is around $14K.
If it's done right. The SC won't strained the engine that much. The advantage of the 3.8 is that it's a bullet proof iron block. Much stronger than any cast aluminum out there.
The weak point on our engine is the piston ring and the crank that's rated at 400 rwhp. Check Hemming's March 2002 for a complete review and history on the buick's 3.8.

the sc is a pretty good setup, also pretty reliable. with 6 lbs it will be fine.
but you have to realize, if you sc a v6 it can be close to a v8 powerwise. but what else can you do? supercharge the v8 and now its way out of your league.<a href=\"http://cardomain.com/id/articacid\" target=\"_blank\">2002 35th Anniv. oh ye, now that you are thinking about getting a v8 car...call your insurance company and get some rate quotes for the v8. subtract the v6 premium from the v8 premium. that is how much money you can spend PER YEAR on ramping up your v6 before you are even in the hole. then add the initial money cost of getting a v8 car as opposed to the v6 car you have now.
Then start keeping track of used powerdyne superchargers. we will be here to help if you take that path. You will have a completly different v6 car even if you leave it at 6 psi. VAROOOOMMMM!
my gas mileage has not changed. it is the same as when the car was brand new. i have been supercharged for 8000 miles.

I was in your boat, actually before I got my v6. I had an 02 WS6 LS1, FAST as hell. But it was a convertible and I put it on ebay to buy a t top model that was around the block. At the time I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as daily driver (real nice, lifted brush gaurd tires rims everything). During the hurricanes I managed to roll my jeep over (hit n run the ****er got away who hit me) and sent me sliding down the road at 60 mph hit another suv in the back and rolled over the median. Guess what the irony is? 10 minutes before my car accident my WS6 was shipped off to Atlanta :( !!! I didnt have enough money to get another v8, so I got my lil sixer and Im really happy with it. If you super or turbo charge it you wont even want a V8 man trust me.
