is a centrifugal sc really better than a positive displacement sc>?

everyone loves the design on the centrifugal superchargers.. the are small.. easy to fit in the engine bay.. blablabl..

but with them, the boost relies on engine RPM, correct?

but how would you guys react to someone designing a positive displacement blower kit. that offers full boost at about..what.. 2k rpm? and has a flat torque curve.

but theonly problem would be that you'd have to cut a hole in your hood for the supercharger to show off in the front of your car..

this is basically a poll.. im not planning on make'n a positive displacement blower kit......YET.. gotta see how my funds are doin.

depends what u want. roots blowers are great for boost all the time, but are only good for low boost apps. they churn up the air a lot and make too much heat w/ higher boost pressures. centrifugals are better for high boost sincwe they're more efficient, plus u can fit an intercooler on to reduce heat. the type of sc u get should depend on what u need it for.

i don't think i would want a a super sticking out of my hood. i would rather have the smaller one. i didn't think that the centrifugal made boost at like 3000. i personally would trade the 1000 rpm for not having something sticking out of my hood.
