decided to head up to Horsepower Engineering up here in houston to see what the new turbo system will do [img]smile.gif[/img] Im still having wastegate problems its basically running 5 psi or 30+ whatever max would be if I let it go. No in between. So I was stuck dynoing at 5 psi. I was surprised with the results hehe.

290 rwhp and 373 rwtq [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img] 5 psi :eek:

that is 140 rwhp and 190 rwtq Gain at 5 psi.
Hows that for efficiency :D

28 rwhp per PSI and 38 rwtq per PSI

I'd be very interested to see this setup, I've heard of your setup from others. I wasn't aware that you were in Houston. I've been considering going turbo with my 3.4, although I'm not sure as to what kind of work you have done prior to adding boost.

Think what 23+ psi would do (my goal).
That 5psi alittle less than dubbled the out put of that 3.4L.
If I rember right that 3.4 of yours isn't any where near stock.

Hah, its more stock than you would think.

Funniest part about the dyno was some guy asking me what kind of cam was in it, the look on his face was priceless when I said "whatever came in it from the factory".

That 373TQ is creeping on the 396 from the last high boost pull with the old turbo. Definately intersting. And I still think it was the best sounding car at the dyno day, and definately one of the one's that got the most attention.

Time to work out that wastegate Tiago, im down for some test drives next week.

3.4 is stock botttom end. Stock crank/pistons/rods/cam

onyl work on teh engine is ported heads and the intake manifold. engine has 100k miles hehe.

I also have 1.6 roller rockers.

NA the same car/motor made a measely 153rwhp and 188 rwtq if I remember correctly.

also still learning, does a bigger turbo just increase boost? or is a big turbo at 5 psi better than a small turbo at 5 psi.

i am thinking 5 psi is 5 psi regardless of the size of the turbo, but I'm still learning and am not sure.

great results though. has anyone gotten their kits yet and dynoed them(3.8)

1 more question, have you modified the 3.8 turbo kit since your first GP?? like has their been any small problems you have worked out and will make the second GP better? or is it the best it could be for a turbo setup??

Tiago correct me if im wong put 5 PSI is 5 PSI if the temp, feet above sea leavel and humidty is the same. a big turbo will spool leter (depends on cam/setup too) but can make more boost for bigger motors.

and on the GP the first round got the updates so they will all be the same, only Tiago knows what the updates are. lol

and the kit is not in yet for people to install do to the pipe benders being lazy or something ;)
