  • Could my FMU be screwing things up?

Hey guys, i'm having some troubles here....i just wrote this post about a whining sound, and air to fuel guage reading really rich etc...

My car seems to be running good.. u think my FMU is malfunctioning? Maybe it is sending more fuel in when i don't need it, which is why i'm burning a lot of gas.... i'm gonna go for a 30 min drive and see how much gas i lose... maybe one of the wires oin the FMU came off or something.....

man this car's driving me nutz....

    thanks for the help.

nevermind i do not think my FMU is causing my problems..... I hope..... i think my air to fuel guage is just whacked....otherwise if i was running completely rich i would smell it pretty well through the exhaust.

If one of the wires going to the FMU came off you would have fuel spilling over your motor. Try unhooking the fmu and hooking up the stock fuel lines and see what the gauge does. I wouldnt get it on it too much with out it hooked up becuase you will be running lean but at least you could tell if it was the gauge or the fmu acting up.

a/f gauges mean almost nothing unless you are running wideband o2 sensors.
