  • Which supercharger?

i have a 3.4 camaro and am looking for a supercharger for it, does anyone have any suggestions? Like, model numbers, brands, i'm not sure how extreme i want to go, but would something like the procharger bd-600 (i think?) be good?

I was once thinking of putting a blower on my 3.4. I was looking at the procharger P-1SC at first. Then the smaller C-1 and C-2 came out. Since then I have decided to do a t-61 turbo, but I would probably go with a C-1 or C-2 unit from procharger. The BD-600 is a powerdyne unit. I'm not sure what the specs on that unit are. Here are specs on the C-1 and C-2: http://www.procharger.com/models.shtml

Do you have Procharger or Powerdyne?

Because BD-600 is a Powerdyne unit and I think it has a different kind of air outlet. You would need a BD-11A. This is Powerdyne 2nd best unit. It's next to their gear driven XB-1A.

If you do have Procharger, you should contact www.machperformance.com I believe they have brackets and pipe work for the 3.4.

You're gonna have to look at CFM which is airflow. PD has 900 cfm and I think V-1 has the same. Vortech has other models where the cfm is rated at 2000. So imagine the power you'll get even low boost.

PD has internal belt while V-1 is gear driven. PD would make more readily boost at low rpm and not cause too much parasitic lost compare to gear driven Vortech.

But since PD is belt driven, boost would be limited. So far the highest I've heard is 15psi but it is very unreliable at that point.

Vortech V-1 is rated at 25psi and still remain reliable.

So performance potential belongs to gear driven Vortech.

Hope this answers your question. If you need more info. I suggest you checkout www.superchargeronline.com They've got loads of information.
