rebuilding your 3.8 to handle more boost is the only way to go.

im looking to make my car faster on the low end but also good on the high end. a properly modified 3.8 engine to handle higher boost can push around 350 hp which is very good. of course the GN 3.8's can handle boost like its nuthing. the L36 can handle alot too just look at the L67's

a turbo would be find for me, since i have an automatic transmission, powerbraking on launches will be fun

350hp is possible normally aspirated, anything more is possible with boost, and its all in how you build it.

What dictates this? Valving and their size per CI.

You'll be making a good amount of power, thats for sure

Keep in mind a turbo car generally has a much better powerband than a naturally aspirated car, which is why Tiago only put down 260 to wheels yet bolt-on LS1's are "no problem."

have you ever looked at an ls1's powerband? it's pretty flat from idle to redline. i wouldn't underestimate them if i were you.

I own one buddy, they don't really pull that hard until you hit like 4,000 rpm.
