  • electrical problems and stock tentioner needs to be fixed

Ran the car and of course nothing works completely right. First my gauges lit up and worked for about 30 seconds before they died so now i can't tell how much boost is running from the changes that were made. I can't even take it to WOT until i get the gauges working again. I don't know what the deal is but i have to go into my electical wiring nightmare and figure out what fuse (right now i think its a fuse) blew out. Hopefully i didn't wire it wrong and or burn something.

On top of that... from all the monkeying around, it sounds like my stock tentioner's spring is weak or its loose. Bill called GMparts to get a new tentioner.

We still haven't found something small enough that will get the RAM AIR airbox to work with the kit. Right now everything we've tried is too big and doesn't fit in the little space thats left with having a kit in there. He called ATI for soemthing that is in the corvette kit that he believes it will work, if not I may have to go with a low profile fan like Stefan did with his kit, OR get something custom fabricated. Hopefully the corvette kit part works better cause right now its the cheapest solution in that it will not raise the price of the kits. In any case, its not that big of a deal, if all fails I will have to go with the usual forced induction setup with a filter near the fog light instead of trying to get it to work with RAM AIR.

UGGGH...seriously guys, i am loosing heart here...everytime we think its done, something new goes wrong. IT IS SO DAMN FRUSTRATING!!!

I am so frustrated now its not even funny. I know you guys have been waiting for this kit a while now and he said this car would be done this week and now i am again waiting for some dumb part to come in because something else went wrong.

GOD... all i am asking for is one fricken break...just for once i would like this thing to run without something going wrong. I wish i never took on this project cause it has been nothing but grief for me since i started it.

James, how do you do it man? You work on the car for hours, you think you are done and everything is fixed, and then something else breaks or goes wrong. How do you keep yourself from going ape **** on your car???

I have a lot of patience and this project is slowly wearing it out

A wise man once said, "Don't worry, be happy."

Listen man, keep your head up, and it'll all work itself out. Spend $$ to make $$, break eggs for omelettes, etc. They all apply. Your hard work and dedication WILL pay off. You've got all the support you need on this site, and then some.

Going bring out the dogs of war against those gremlins you've got in the Batmobile.

Don't give up faith, the project will come together, and be a success. With the time, and details you have invested the kit, it should be great in the end. I will be waiting for it when its ready with money in hand.
I may have one hell of a time installing it, but hey it will all be worth it.
