Could this be the Double Sided Rib that we PD users need?
i can't tell by reading the part number....i dunno if the 165 means 165 inches long...... but the belt that we are currently using is 104.5 inches long.... i can't see is us having much more play than a couple of inches.....maybe we can try that belt, but re route it or something, i'd be willing to bypass the AC pulley or something like that to get the blower running on the ribeed side....but lets get the length of it first....maybe i'll give them a call and find out.

Lets find out the measurement of that belt. I also want to know who manufactured it too. Maybe we could get in touch with them and have them fabricate it to our spec.
Good eyes Thor. This is probaly the same double sided vette belt weve all heard could probaly work for us but have never actualy seen. I think Im just gonna call checkers and see what size belt the lt1 of that year uses. If it's the 6 ribb and the same milimeter we use, ( wich is very possible being that alot of the stuff on these engines are the same)and the belt is around the same length like you said ( hopefully a little shorter)then thats a good start. AS far as the water pump pully... Its still a mystery to me. Perry V, Ive been looking at the belt diagram all day and I think if we bypass the AC ( even with everything ribbed) there wont be enough wrappage around the pully and well still lose boost. Just my guess.
good call... i never really looked at the belt diagram.... however, i'm sure that something can be done to salvage some space.... i called the store that sold that vette belt today, and they said they didn't know the length of the belt, they said to call GM, as they get their parts directly from them. i don't think it will be too much trouble getting the ribbed pulleys, i think we just need to find the right belt. I can always buy a grooved pulley at Piston Ring (an auto parts store up here in canada) for cheap, i just don't see y that wouldn't work. Lets see if we can find out the size of the belt first, and we'll take it from there. At least we're moving though, we're getting somewhere.
lets keep eachother posted

I have posted a couple to try and find out the measurement. Appreciate you making the call Perry. I would do the same too if I wasn't coming home so late at night from school.
I have a feeling it would come out short and probably be close to our stock belt. I am willing to sacrifice the AC but Green is right. There is probably no way of rerouting our belt.
Oh well, if we don't find out anything, I'll just go ahead and purchase it and make that comparison. In a way I guess I'll be saving my 8 ribbed pulley just in case. Let's cross our fingers, this could be our answer.

Wow, who would have guessed that. The point i'm getting as is why can't you use the flat side effectivly? My LS1 has no problems w/ using the flat side of the belt- and it obviously needs a much higher impeller rpm to make boost.
I'd do more research on the problem, i'd say its something in the alignment or tensioning.
Mikael, maybe your blower setup has the belt covering more surface area of ur blower pulley than ours does. It is not an alignment problem, a better tensioner would help, but no one has come up with one. As for now, our biggest problem is belt slippage, we're working on different projects to try and figure this out. Either way, if we can somehow get it to run on the ribbed side... our problem will be solved.
anyone learn anything new about the vette belt? I'm still waiting for my blower to come back from powerdyne, and then i'm going to try the anti-slip tape out on the pulley.
keep us posted.

I e-mailed GM parts to find out about the total lenght. I tried some places but none of them went to the trouble of finding out for me.
I'm going to keep trying and if I don't get the answer I need by the middle of next month, I'll probably just go and buy it. If it doesn't work, hopefully I could get reimbursed for it.
GM just got back to me. I can't believe that not even their tech guy has ever heard of this.
This Wednesday I'm going to a Corvette Specialty dealer. It's only 8 miles from me and they sell nothing but Corvette cars. From the classic, ZR1 to ZO6. They also sell parts their.
They are not open in the weekend though. So I'm going to ditch school and ask them about this. I'll keep you guys posted.
I don't know if anybody is still interested in this. But today I went to a place called Corvette Specialty. They sell nothing but Corvettes and its parts.
I spoke with the manager there and asked him about the double sided ribbed belt for 92-93 vette. He did have one in the back and we both went back there. I had my old Gates belt from my supercharger. We compared the two belts together and it was way to short. Even our stock belt is longer than this one.
I didn't tell him that I needed it for my SC. He knew about it. He told me he had the same problem in the past when centrifugal SC didn't came for that particular vette yet and he had to run it on the flat side of the pulley. We spoke for awhile and he gave me a couple of suggestions.
But I think, I'm going to stick with my plan and have my 8 ribs smoothed out with v-grooves on the sides. Then put some kind of rubber or adhesive to make it stick.
What about adding a second tensioner to wrap the belt around the pulley more. A friend of mine running a very overdriven pulley bought this second tensioner that effectively wraps the entire belt around the SC pulley. That and spraying a little VHT on the belt for the track has significantly decreased slippage. If I had some pics of your supercharger setup, I could probably build a tensioner for it.
