  • GTP info continued...

Well Viper is correct, at this point and time it is useless to adapt an M90 supercharger to an F-Body, However, at this very moment we speak, I have been designing something so deliciously evil, that you will not believe me till i am finished, and post pics, but that wont be for a while, due to the fact that mother nature decided to piss me off, by damaging my camaro, so at this time it is being repaired. Anywho, I have been building a custom M90 to fit inside without, get this, cutting the windshield, or pushing back the firewall, if everything goes to plan, I will decide weither or not to build more of these for other F-Body owners, but you need the appropriate materials for this to work, luckily i came across and entire L67 (supercharged L36) and am using that as the donor engine, but dont hold your breath, this could take a while, so until then, contine to use CSC and turbos, like he said, theyre more sensible, and more cost effective. I will post pics and more info as this goes along, ive been doing this for almost a year now so its not like this popped in my head while watching TV. Peace

you got it teal....huh,well i guess its no secret now lol, but yeah if you cut the inlet, especially at an angle, you get a whopping amount of room. im taking the throttle body, and putting that down toward the front of the piping so 1. the throttle cables can connect to it without much reworking them, and 2. i get even more room.

This is nothing new to me. I've mentioned this 3 years ago. It is very possible. This mechanic I know, he adopted an M90 to his 300zx using the water pump pulley instead of the crank. Ours would be a cake walk to do compare to his.
His name is Alex Rivera and he specializes on Nissan Z.

But once we've learn how to adopt the M90 it would actually be cheaper to buy than Centrifugal SC and Turbo. And the advantage to root blower is that boost is very quick.

the L67 isnt just a supercharged L36, it has way stronger internals.

Thats not exactly true, a L67 has different pistons with 8.5-1 instead of 9.4-1 like ours. They have a floating wrist pin instead of pressed pin in the l36. They are different but not sure if they are stronger, but they have the same crank. The L32's have stronger rods.

the only reason theyre better for boost really is the lower compression pistons, the rods are a little stronger too

The problem I have with the GTP blower is the cost vs gains. Even if there were no clearance issues the cost for the blower, lower intake, and heads are more money than it is worth imo not to mention the amount of work required to put all that on the car. Still... There is something about the look of a roots type blower sitting under the hood that nothing else compares to. Hope it works out.

if the blower was not stock it would work great i bet for good power but a stock blower is only going to add 60 HP at the crank..... maybe

Stock blower sure, maybe 60hp. But with it ported, different pulley and intercooler, it could be really sweet. Just look at those GTP guys with some work, they are flying. Now put that in a rear wheel car that can hook up.

Best of luck on the project, it will take a lot of work

yeah, as to what im seeing, unless that sc goes on an akins diet ,theres really no way to put the IC on there without doing some cutting, so i might go for soemthing a little different to cool things down, maybe a cryo kit would cool things down enough as to where i dont need an IC, the only disadvantage is that the cryo is just like nitros, its only temporary, and then you run out as to where the IC is working all the time. And my bad for calling it an L36 just supercharged, what i ment by that was that the block is the same, but besides the crank, it does have a stronger bottem end and lower compression ratio. But about 7 hours ago, i pulled the L67 heads off, and am starting to clean them up now, so im one more step to seeing where this is going.
