Wow, that is almost half the value of my car, but then again you will have to pay to play.

I was trying to be fairly conservative with my numbers, the intercooler might be far more efficient than I anticipate. In any case, its a hell of a lot of power. :D

I know, and I mean nothing bad about it. You've been great with calculation before.
I've predicted back then that the kit in the end would be close or a little bit over a thousand more than the Powerdyne. But with the stuff that goes into it, it is worth it.
I hope to hear more results from it. For me, I think I will stick with mine. I like the idea of being the original Vector Performance supercharger. I also like to solve this slippage issue and hopefully be the first air to air and Alcohol injected Powerdyne someday.

I wouldnt run more than 8 maybe 9 psi with a stock 3.8 engine unless i lowered the compression. Everyone that is interested in boost for the 3.8 should be focusing on the L67's in the GTP's .
If you want a safe engine with lots of power you will have to modify your L36 internals.
And i believe turbo is the way to go. especially if you have an automatic.

i'm not one to be skeptic, i have followed this kit from day one.
BUT, 5000 dollars just doesn't do it for me. I could trade my car in on a gently used Z28, owe 5000 dollars after trade, and still be faster. OR, drop in an LS1, A4, and required components.
Sorry :( but 5000 dollars....that's a lot of hammers2011 Camaro LS 6M, in black.

You guys are right, it's a lot of chedder, but, it's a quality kit. I got to drive the batmobile yesterday at our local car club meeting, I will answer some q's since b-man is busy with life, and well, mine is boring =)

quote:
Does the PCM tuning negate the HPP3 93 octane tuning?

Yes, why would you even want that POS once you have custom tuning??

quote:
Ryan are these kits going to be sold for only a limited time? Are there only going to be limited numbers made?

When speaking to ryan, this kit will not be made for a limited time, and extra parts should be on hand.

with a pcm tuning later (additional 500.00 later)
how much HP gains?
opt#2 10 psi with pcm tuning 4996.00. How much HP gains?
Which ATI head unit is being used? Does it require any maintence? (i.e. re-oiling every 30k?, bearings replaced, etc?)

The car still has yet to be dyno'd with the 7lbs pully and the 10lbs pully, that will hopefully happen this weekend.
the charger is the P1SC

The PCM tuning is better. MUCH better. It is tuned to your car and how your car runs. Its not a generic program.- Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"

Yes it will probably negate your HPP3. You will probably not want the hypertech settings.
Ryan are these kits going to be sold for only a limited time? Are there only going to be limited numbers made?
I'm asking because I don't want something so custome that 5 years from now if something breaks I can't get parts for it.
Also asking becuase I would like to wait untill next summer to see how the beta testers turn out after 1 full year of driving. If I choose to go the forced induction route I need it to be reliable.

ITs custom, but we didn't use parts that you couldnt get 5 yrs from now . I wouldn't worry about that at all. However with any kit you buy anywhere it is only going to have a 1 yr waranty from the manufacturer - in this case ATI.- Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"

Yea the powerdynes are hovering right around 4 grand. The ribbed pully set up is worth the differance alone in my opinion. I also agree with Thor on how the power numbers will be affected by the intercooler. But reguardless of loss you'll still be getting what the powerdyne is supposed to get (6 psi) with the 7 lb pully. If you upgrade to the 10 lb pully you should at a minimum be getting a SOLID 8 psi ALL THE TIME. Which would be a dream come true for us powerdyne owners.

Guys... what we call a 7lbs pully is in fact 7 psi. When i floor my car, i am getting 7 psi on the gauge. Thats why we call it a 7lbs pulley So... the pulley we ordered for the 10lbs is based on the psi we got from the current pulley. I can;t remember the size off hand but its in the post that BIll made. Hopefully the pulley we ordered will give us 10psi of intercooled boost - Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"

Well... if you change the pulley on your own, you are going to risk the waranty. Keep in mind there is a proper way of pulling the pully off chargers so you don't break the seal. Now, 12psi... i think even with intercooled, you would be risking your engine without forged internals. Of course some engines are built stronger than others. If you have the $$$ to put towards another engine and a rebuild, and you don't care about the waranty, then throw the 12psi on and see if it works. If your engine blows, you always have your 2nd engine and a rebuild to get the boost you want.- Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"

Yeah, but some of us crazy fools are dertermeind to have a fast 6.
I know as well as anyone who has pourder time and $$ and heart and soul into their six.... with the money we have spent, we could have had a fast V8... but then again... those are around every where.
I went to a cruise last night. Parked my car and opened the hood. You should have heard the comments i got.
For once, i wasn't called a ricer.
For once, i didn't get the comeent "its only a v6"
I head comments like:
"Damn!, its a supercharged V6!"
"thats different"
"That is the baddest firebird i have ever seen"
"with 10 psi, you should be able to run with an LS1, but with the less weight, you can defiantly suprise a driver and may beat them"
"Nice setup"
i mean... i didn't hear one bad comment.
We've scheduled the dyno for friday. I want to try an take it to the track, but the weather here has been very bad for the track- its always raining at some point in the day.
ANYWAYS... the point is. I could have had a v8, but... i want to be one of the fastest 6 out there. I want to beat James to the 11 sec mark... and if he gets there before me. I want to get to the 10 sec mark - Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"

If you call ATI, they will direct you to Mach Peformance. So you can call them or Mach Performance.- Ryan
A.K.A BATMAN
\"Be part of the solution...
Not the problem\"
