• Tiago About Your Turbo

In light of Batmans recent word on the price of his kit how do u think your going to make it with the price range?

I know its apples and oranges... but strickly from a price stand point what do u think your going to do?

• #2
My price goal has always been about $3500 and Im still within that range right now. I'll have a final price figure in the following weeks. We still have to get numbers on the 3.8 before I can take it back apart to produce.

1. Are the 3.4 kits going to be the same price as the 3.8 kits?

2. Will they have basically the same parts as shown in the bad bird site? Cheap and functional makes my wallet happy :D

I will make a post to get the waiting list going soon, I just wanted to get some initial numbers on the 3.8 first.

I want to include everything you need to run the kit safely.

yes 3.4L kit will be the same cost, as they are the same parts for the kit, and same labor involved in fabrication.

Some of the parts will be the same, others will not. Performance will not be compromised. All production piping will be mandrel bent also, with the least welds as possible.

Will the Paxton SuperChargers on ZZP work with our L36 engine? they Centrifugal. They are claming with a VS Cam and stock internals its possible to produce close to 400 Wheel Horse power with 8.5:1 compression, pushing around 16 to 17 PSI. Of course stock internals is not safe, but if this supercharger would work with our L36, it would beat the hell out of a turbo kit for $3500
the ZZP Supercharger kit is only $2999 and can produce 16 to 17 PSI. You could forge internals and run around 14 PSI all day without any problems.

Think 400+ HP all day long.

i dont think that 8.5-1cr is stock though. and a blower is totally diferent then a turbo. you could probably get away with 14psi on a stock motor, btu it might be pushing it.
boost, you got it???

yea only 2999, nice, now another 2grand or mroe for the rebuild plus all the fuel, spark and other upgrades involved and you might get 400 hp.

I'll reach 400 hp on teh stock internals, sound better and make more tq.

tiago, you need thoughs same upgrades for a turbo as well, bigger fuel injectors, fuel rail, MSD ignition and running more than 9 psi on our 9.4:1 stock compression engine is dangerous, especially if you have a M5 transmission, you **** up shifting and say good bye to your engine =)

the L67 GTP engine is 8.5:1 compression stock, the L36 is 9:4.1, that is why a stock L67 handle quite bigger power gains stock than the L36, also the L67's internals are all around better in performance.

if you throw more than 7 psi of boost into your engine without spark and fuel upgrades, you wont get gains that you should be getting.

with both a turbo kit and the paxton SC kit you can make 450+ HP to the crank. id rather have a turbo since i have an automatic, but if you have the M5, id go with a supercharger, you will have alot more fun.

in the end...
its all about the LS1 rebuilt to a 383 stroker
