I was wondering where in the Powerdyne supercharger system is the bypass valve located. Typically they are mounted just forward of the inlet plenum and plumed back to the compressor inlet. The problem is where our MAF sensor is. Most MAF sensors are located just after the air filter and before the charger. Ours is part of the inlet plenum placing it after the charger. Does the Powerdyne system have you relocate it to forward of the charger or does it make no difference?

if you ran a bypass valve back into the charge piping after the blower it wouldnt do anything. it has to be vented back into the area after the MAF and before the blower inlet. this way the motor wont double-sense the inlet air going into the engineboost, you got it???

Maybe I wasn't clear with my question, but thanks for trying. I understand that the bypass valve needs to be mounted to blow off pressure downstream of the charger and needs the dischaged air to be routed to the forward side of the compressor. The Vortech LS1 system has you relocate the MAF sensor so it is forward of the charger to avoid "turbulance." I understand what ur asking. optimally, u'd have the MAf, then the blower, then the blow-off valve, and then the TB. The blow off valve would either dump back into the intake, after the MAF and before the blower, or out into the air.
The way our cars are setup, we can't relocate the MAF because it's part of the TB. This is ok tho, because when the TB blade closes, the pressure backs up, and air stops moving past the MAF sensor. Instead, it goes out the blow-off valve, preferably back to the intake tract before the blower to be reused again, but it could be dumped into the engine bay also, there's no problem w/ that.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Thanks guys. I will try to install my Vortech without relocating the MAF and see how it runs, especially at idle. The tech assistance folks at Vortech advise against positioning the MAF downstream of the charger due to "turbulance" which is why they relocate it in the LS1 kit.
