okay heres the deal...my dad's grand prix was in for some service, and after seeing the great job that was done, he got to talking with the master GM mechanic who did the work...they got talking about my camaro, and he told him he could put a paxton supercharger on my car for 3400 installed at the shop he runs. has anyone heard of a paxton SC on our maro's, and if so how much power are we talking and is that an appropriate price with install...he also said he would do the necesary upgrades to handle the additional power, any opinions?

3400 installed is a great price for a supercharger system installed. It would have to be a custom setup however because there is no 3.8 kit out there. There are powerdyne and procharger kits though.
i am leaneing towards the opinion that the mechanic is speaking before doing research.
i think he may be 'assuming' that there is already a paxton setup for the 3.8 f body. just the price he quoted is concern. you may not want to get your hopes up.
if by chance he has some sort of system laying around then check back here when you start blowing your dipstick. we can fix that sort of thing quite easily.
good luck.
