• NOT FFF Turbo Help

I'm having a few problems setting up my turbo so i figured i'd throw out some questions on here.

Whats going on is, well for one thing, my car is idleing at about 2k steady. Vac on the boost guage is at 20. Whats the average vac for you guys at idle?

Also, when i rev or hit the throttle at all, it revs itself up to for 4k and sits there for a bit and eventually falls back down. I've somewhat got that to stop but not completely.

I was wondering where you guys have tapped into your vac lines to hook up your boost guage, FMU, BOV, etc.. Shane hooked up mine and tapped into the EVAP.

EDIT: I figured maybe if i added FFF in the title, someone might reply.

Sounds like you have a vacume leak. I tapped my vacume lines off the FPR.
    Turbocharged and intercooled.
17psi(oops), stock fuel pump, no FMU
http://www.cardomain.com/id/phoenix64
Video: ftp://ftp.pfabrication.com Assorted car ****: TurboCamaroFull.

20 inches of murcury at idle is normal..

I dont know about the reving..

i hooked up my vaume lines by pulling my egr system and making a custom block off plate with a barbed fitting.. worked perfect and its in a great/acessable location too..

      good luck..

When the car is idleing normal at about 1k, the VAC is at 10.

Do you think that having the vac lines run off of the EVAP could be causing this problem? I'm going to try the FPR anyways to rule that out. If thats not the case, any other suggestions?

get some brake cleaner (the flamable kind)..

this sounds like a bad idea i know.. but take the cleaner and spray it around all the seals aling your intake trak and all the fittings your your vacume acessories..

if you hear the engine choke or stall out at any point you found you vacume leak..

dont worry its safe.. just dont spray a whole bottle into the TB or anything dumb..

I got some special plasic barbed fittings from mcmastercarr.com that had the same heat rating as brass stuff.. then i got a 1/4 thick peice of aluminum stock.. I cut two holes.. one for the barbed fitting and one for the bolt..
tapped the barbed fitting hole.. and installed it..

nothing fancy really.. i used nice hardware but you can get all the parts at home depot or lowes..

just make sure your lines fit over the barbed fitting and you buy the right tap and bit..

                      its nice.. and completely isolated..

I could get some pictures later.. but i dont have anywhere to host them.. right now..

That EGR thing sounds like a good idea.

But i've got some bad news... I was tightening the throttle body some more as to rule that out as leakage, and the last bolt i was tightening, the one on the bottom, snapped in half while i was tightening it. So half is stuck in the intake and now im back to the drawing board. :(

I will take some tommarow.. (hopefully I will remember)

note to everyone considering this.. you will need either the ZZP sim.. or HPtuners to keep the codes away when you pull the egr..

and also another block off plate for the header side.. for the header plate you will also need a tap..

fittings can be had from www.mcmaster.com
Click "Barbed Tube Fittings" on the big list on the main page in the first section..

I went with the PVDF.. but there are All sorts of fittings out there.. just make sure you get one that fits well and is somewhat heat/pressure tolerent..
