intercooler sizing

Okay guys how big of an intercooler can we run for a fmic,2001 camaro?

well, if you don't likc AC, u can put one the same dimensions as the AC condenser. if ya wanna keep ur AC, size depends on where and how you put it in. I suggest nothing thicker than 2 rows/2 cores because the thickness after that doesn't let the air cool as much.

i run a 30x12x3.5 fmic in mine and it jsut barely fits the long way. the end couplers hit the bumper a little but you can deal with it. i have a link in my sig to the pics of my car if you want too see how it looks.

Matt that is one big and nice cooler. What size are the inlet and outlets? And do you know what sort of cfm you are able to flow through it?

mattsv6, what r ur headers and exhaust housing made of? inconel, or is that just ceramic coating? Where r u gonna mount that IC at?

the inlet and outlet are 2.5 inch. the intercooler is capable of roughly 600hp, but i dont remember what the flow cfm was exactly. i will look for that for you guys later this afternoon. the intercooler is already mounted in the front bumper and all the piping is run. what i did for headers was 1- buy a cheap shi**y set of headers that i didnt mind ruining, 2- cut them apart, 3- weld in more bends and straight piping too get the outlets where i wanted them for the uppipe too work properly. all the primaries have been matched too lenght so they flow about the same. thanks for all the compliments on my setup!! i really appreciate it. and if you guys like how it comes out in the end, we will be duplicating it for re-sale to the public.
