• My turbo LS1 on the dyno...

    For those who care,

Finally got my car to the dyno to be tuned last week, got her tuned at 10 psi MTI did a good job, nice safe tune, 20 deg timing low 11s AFR. Final numbers were 615 rwhp and 613 rwtq forged bottom end, completely stock top end , except CC918s.

Turbo is a T72. Bone stock heads, cam and intake.

Gonna try to get a Ls6 intake on her now see how much difference it makes, maybe some 02 exaust manifolds too.

This was on pump gas btw, 93 octane.
Im pretty happy with the results. :D

here is a link to the graph:

That link doesn't work for me. It sends me to a screen that says I need to register for another website. Are you still selling those turbo kits? PM if its a problem to post on the boards about it.

What happend? Did you blow it, that you have a forged bottom end? Badass times btw, you need a plate that says "snakekiller".

I blew it on 4 psi with the stock bottom end at the track on no tuning. It was running 120 mph traps that day. no tuning killed it

            thanks guys.

I don't quite think so, the hPturners car also was stripped shell of a car with a huge converter and full bolt ons. Not just programming.

i would suggest the LSX intake if you are going to change it. a lot of the V8 guys have raved about them. Great #'s though about 50hp more than i was expecting it would be. How much longer till you get everything in place to sell this as a kit, i think it would do very well if you can keep the price around $4000.

How much boost do you expect to lost on average across the board by swapping to the LS6 or LSX intake? I have heard many blower/turbo LS1 guys not wanting to swap because they'd lose boost (blower cars in particular).

Not bad numbers. We put an A&A Procharger on a FRC Vette, stock down to the manifolds, cats, and LS1 intake. Seeing like 8 or 9psi it did right about the same numbers, of course this was through the IRS too.

Now get some numbers that really count, at the track!! Nice job.

                          Thanks,

This being a turbo, it wouldn't loose ANY boost, teh wastegate will just hold whatever its set too, no matter what the intake conditions are, it just runs to the set point.

I don't want to go to a LSX intake because of price really lol, I think a Ls6 intake will do fine, from what Ive observed I think I can gain 20-30 rwhp on the intake/exaust tweaks. Maybe more if I went LSX, haven't looked too much into them, 90mm TBs aren't cheap either.

No they are not cheep. But the flow charactoristics look great and with a FI application would probably be the way to go. Very nice numbers.

looks like about $1300 for a LSX swap or $300 for a used LS6 intake, hummmmm ;)
